The Wedding Stationery! |
We used a ready made black invitation kit by Daisychain Designs. It came with outer cards with a cut out window for the invitations, a paper insert with a graphic to sit behind the window, blank thankyou cards, placecards and pre-printed RSVP cards. We decided to include the RSVP cards simply because they were there. Traditionally in Australia, replying to a wedding invitation involves buying s small card with either "aceptance" or "inability" on the front. They're available everywhere with plenty of designs to choose from - like any greeting card. Some have a short message inside but it's customary to write your own little message thanking the hosts for the invitation and some well wishes. We were delighted when most people sent back the reply cards we included along with a letter or short note. It made it all so special and personal! Now to the actual pictures! Most of the images below are scanned bigger than they really are to show up detail and text. |
The Invitation |
The outer card was lightly textured. It's easier to see on the thankyou, RSVP or placecards. It's basically white with an antiqued gold design. We chose the heart design! We added an organza ribbon with opaque edges to finish it off and spent a lot of time composing the wording and text for the inside! Yes it's a little "flowery" but who cares? It's different! |

The pic below is obviously much bigger than in reality but the texture of the card can be seen well and unfortunately the gold turned out a little brownish. :-( |

Thank You Card |
This view of the front of the closed thankyou card. It's all card with no insert and the text and decoration is printed directly onto the card. It's blank inside. |

Placecard |
The placecards came blank (just with the decoration) and our friend Victoria hand calligraphed the names onto each one. The one below is a spare copy. My real placecard is mounted along with Andrew's placecard, my bouquet and his buttonhole in a lovely 3D frame! |
