We are

Crackitopen is a community relations, non-profit making organisation governed by a management committee dedicated to artistic excellence in the advance of better community relations and peace and reconciliation on the island of Ireland. Crackitopen was formed in 1997 by a group of professional artists, writers, performers and community activists from both sides of the Irish border who wanted to support community relations work though excellence within the arts - particularly in the fields of new music & drama. With the success of Crackitopen's musical projects, Songshed was formed in 2001. Crackitopen continued to promote community relations through the arts and managed all Crackitopen and Songshed projects up to the untimely death of Sam Starrett on 5th March 2007.
