Mary Frances Tucker was born on June 19, 1926. The only child of Fred and Thelma Tucker. |
Here she is, in an early photo of the family. Fred and Thelma Tucker, Seated are: Arie Butler Tucker( Fred`s Mother), Celestial Elizabeth Jones Lawrence, and John Franklin Lawrence ( Thelma`s grand parents, on her father`s side). And the little girl is Mary Frances. |
Here she is, at about the age of 10 or 12. Daddy said this is how she looked the first time he ever saw her. She was with her Daddy at the store next to New Bethel Baptist Church. He said they didn`t speak to each other at that time. |

A few years later, here`s a family photograph of us. Roy Gene, Walter, Daddy, Mother, David, Wendell, Me, and Norma. This was around 1959, or 60. |
This is one of the last photos made of Mother and Daddy. She was sick the last few years, but I don`t recall her complaining of anything much, other than the fact she couldn`t see to read or sew. She had several illnesses, and the doctors couldn`t treat one for conflicting with another. |
She was saved by the grace of God, and joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she was faithfully in attendance till the end. Her desire was to see her children all saved, and also her grandchildren. She was an inspiration and a blessing to us all. She went into the hospital for some shots she needed, and fell out in the Lobby on Dec. 6, 1996. They put her on life support, but she never regained consciousness. Officially, she was pronounced dead on Dec. 7, 1996. I think she was already in Heaven by then. |
The song playing is " Come and Go With Me", written by Amy Owen. Mother had a lot of favorite songs, but I think this one best conveys her wishes, that all would come to know Christ, and be with her in Heaven. |
