A Dream
Come True
By: Son Zelda
Don't own. Don't sue. NO Money$!$!$!$!
It was summer vacation. Zelda was sitting at her computer, as usual, editing
her
DragonBallZ character biographies for her book. She was on Goku because she was
listening to "Aitsuha Son Goku." She would edit the bios according to
the song she was
listening to. Like, if she was listening to "Drunken Gohan Song," or
"Piccolo San Daisuki,"
she would work on Gohan's, and so on.
She had had a dream earlier that morning. It was DragonBallZ orientated, as
were
most of her dreams. She dreamed she was in the setting she was in right then.
She was
feeling playful and lonely. So, she highlighted all of Goku's bio, typed
"Visit me," and
pressed enter. But, right then, time seemed to stop. All her papers flew
anywhere they
wanted to. Then, an all-too-familiar shape seemed to emerge from her monitor.
She
waited to see what would happen.
Then her sister woke a very unhappy Zelda from her dreams. So, she decided to
try
it in the real world. She did just what she had done in her dream. Then, you
guess what
happened. She finally got to see what would happen.
Goku came sprawling from her console. On the floor, he asked, " Who are
you?" What
just happened?" very nervously.
"I don't really know myself," she replied with a grin. "I had a
dream exactly like this,
but it didn't go this far." Zelda never was too good at explaining things.
"You can't be...
are you....Goku?"
"How....do you....know who I am? Who...what are you?" He asked again,
more nervously
than before.
"This can't be....H-how.....on Earth could this happen?"
"What, you mean you're as confused as me?"
"Well," she started, while Goku decided to put himself into a more
comfortable,
cross-legged position on the floor. "Are you...well.....really here? You
are supposed to be
just a cartoon character on a children's television show."
"What? A TV show? What's going on?"
"I know everything about you! You, your children, your friends and
enemies. Ask me
any question and I bet you anything I could answer it." She had always
prided herself
on her DragonBall knowledge.
Goku struggled to think of a question of himself and his friends that no one
would
know. "Uhhh, OK. If you can answer my question, I will trust you. Umm,
what race am I
and all of my friends?" Goku never was too bright.
"Oh, jeez, challenge me, won't you? You and Vegeta are pure Saiyan. Your
sons,
Gohan and Goten, mothered by the human Chi-Chi are half Saiyans-half humans.
The
same with Trunks and Bra, mothered by Bulma. Kaio-sama is of the Kaio race.
Krillin is
the strongest non-Saiyan on the planet; he is a human. Android #18 was wished
to be a
human. She and Krillin had a human child named Marron. Tien, Chaozu and Yamcha
are
humans. Piccolo, Kami, Nail and Dende are all Nameks. Piccolo is fused with
Nail and
Kami, and Dende is the Guardian of Earth. Who am I missing?" she asked,
without
skipping a beat, knowing she had missed no one.
"No one. Wow. Well, it looks I trust you now. Wait, one more question. How
did Cell
get beaten?"
"Your son defeated him, of course. But," she said, in her snooty
voice, pleased she
could answer the toughest question the world's strongest man could offer,
"He
couldn't have done it without the rest of you."
"Well okay. It's actually pretty nice here when you don't have the crap
scared out of
you." *Ping!* "My Kami! There is an immense Ki signature coming from
you!"
***
"Who,
me?" she asked, her eyes huge with astonishment. "You must be
kidding! I'm
terrible at sports, exercise, anything really that involves physical
exertion," she replied,
kind of scared at herself.
"No, I'm quite serious! Would I joke about something like this? You should
know, you
seem to know everything about me."
"OK, but...how can this be? I totally can't believe this. Like I said, I'm
really weak."
"Well, Ki doesn't come solely from strength. It comes also from the heart.
Hang on,
I'll ask Kaio-sama, he'll know. He knows-"
"Everything," she finished for him. They both laughed. It seemed
already that they
were becoming good friends.
Kaio-sama had also felt the Ki. He was just about to contact Goku, but, being
himself,
he decided to take a little nap first. He was rudely awakened from his peaceful
slumber
by Goku's voice: "Kaio! Are you there?"
"Yes, Goku, but why did you wake me up?" then he suddenly remembered
the Ki
signature he had felt. "Tell me, Goku, did you feel a new Ki a little
while ago?"
"Yeah, Kaio, that is why I called upon you. The person is in the room with
me. I
somehow got transported into her house. I can't sense any of my friends' Ki
signatures
at all. Shouldn't I be able to?"
"Actually, Goku, I can't sense you at all either. I am surprised you could
contact me.
It seems you are in another dimension entirely."
"That should be right. This girl says we are just a TV show in her
world."
"What? Girl?! You mean that Ki came from a girl?!
"Yes. She seems all right to me. She knows everything about us. She even
knows about
you, Kaio," knowing that would make him nervous. It was so much fun to
mess with a
god.
"I don't trust her, Goku. I wouldn't trust anyone with such a high
Ki."
At this point, Zelda had an idea. She had heard what they were saying, though
she
didn't know how. Nor did she really care. Kaio was one of her favorites, and
she wanted
him to trust her. "Hey, Goku, can I talk to him?"
"Um, sure. Kaio, she wants to talk to you, K?"
"Uhhh, OK. Go ahead, mystery girl."
"Well, first off, I'm Zelda," surprised at herself because she hadn't
told them her
name. "OK. Three blondes are being chased by the police. Their van ran out
of gas, and
there was a shack on the side of the road. They all went in. There were 3
potato sacks
inside, so they all hopped into one. The police came in and kicked the first
sack. The
blonde inside said: Meow! The cop thought it was a cat. He kicked the second
sack and
the blonde said: Woof! He thought it was a dog. The policeman then kicked the
third
sack. The blonde inside said: "Potato!!"
"Ahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!! Oh, that's one of the funniest jokes I've
ever heard!
All right, Zelda, I trust you. Anyone with a joke that funny has to be
trusted."
"Thanks," she replied, very happy she had earned his trust, and how
easy it was. "I
got a million of 'em."
"I don't get it," Goku said, a look of pure confusion crossing his
face. They all
laughed, forgetting about Zelda's alarming Ki.
"Hey, Kaio. What about the Ki that came from me? Can you explain that for
us?"
"Well, I don't kn-" The connection was cut off. Goku had disappeared,
using his
Instant Transmission technique.
"What the-"
Suddenly, Goku returned, Kaio-sama with him. "I just thought that he
should see you
to help him figure it out," he explained with his trademark grin.
"Well now, I see. Zelda, it seems you have powers," he said in a
professional voice.
***
"What?
What kind of powers do you mean? Like Goku and Gohan and all of them?"
she asked, perplexed.
"No, I mean magical powers. Try conjuring something." She pointed her
finger at her
coffee table and concentrated. Suddenly, a pie appeared. "A pie? Why did
you decide to
conjure that?" Kaio asked, confused.
"Well, knowing Goku, I thought he might want to eat something." Goku
had already
begun to dig into the pie, with no fork, only his fingers.
"I was kind of hungry," he said with his mouth full. "Thanks,
Zelda."
"No problem. That was pretty easy. You want another?"
"Sure." He had already finished the first one. "Mmmm,
cherry!"
"All right, Zelda, Goku. I'm going to leave now. Bubbles is probably
getting restless."
"OK, Kaio, I guess I'll see you," they both replied in unison. He
then Instant
Transmissioned himself out of Zelda's living room.
"Oh, um, Goku? Do you think I could meet some of your friends? Could you
tell them
about me and then tell me if they want to meet me?"
"Oh, sure! I can do that! I bet Gohan would like that. You're cute!"
She flushed,
bright red, because she was so pale. "Do you think you could try to freeze
time? Just
grab my arm, then everything should be frozen except the two of us."
"OK, I'll have a go." She grabbed Goku's arm, as he had told her. She
did not point at
anything this time. She focused on freezing time, wanting to have Goku's
approval.
Then, everything just stopped. The clocks stopped ticking. The cat stopped
strutting
around their legs.
"Well, it looks like it worked," an astonished Goku said.
"Yeah, I guess it did," Zelda said, amazed at herself for what she
had just done. "I
can't believe I just did that. I didn't think I had it in me."
"Well, here's what we'll do. After I ask them if they'd like to meet you,
I'll
telepathically contact you. That will signal you to freeze time. Then, I'll
Instant
Transmission with everyone back here."
"OK, sounds like a deal," she replied, ecstatic. She was going to
meet the Z team!!!!
She had dreamed about this for ages.
"One thing, Zelda..."
"Yeah?" she asked. Nothing could ruin her good mood.
"Could you....well...unfreeze time?"
"Oh, of course! How silly of me! I'm just so happy I'm going to meet all
of you."
"Well, I'll go ask them now. Don't fall asleep! That makes it harder for
me to sense
you."
"Well, I'll see you in a little bit."
***********************************************************************
Zelda was
lying on the couch watching old DBZ episodes. She would have fallen asleep
in the in the next five minutes had she not been jolted out of her thoughts by
a familiar
voice: "Zelda! Are you there? Dang! I wasn't totally sure this would work
anyways.
Gohan, Goten! Looks like you aren't going to meet Zelda, after all!!"
Zelda knew what she had to do. She somehow hung onto the thoughts, and froze
time.
"Goku! Stop! I'm here! You guys can come over now."
"OK! You two! Grab my arms." He put his finger up to his forehead.
Moments later,
the three Son family men were sitting in Zelda's living room. Goku was familiar
with it,
at least. "Hey, Zelda! I believe you already know of my sons-"
"Gohan and Goten. I'm honored," she said sarcastically. She
pantomimed a fake
curtsy in the direction of the two half-Saiyan. Gohan was blushing. She soon had
the
wind knocked out of her because Goten had run over to Zelda and hugged her,
around
the middle, because he was so much shorter than her.
"Hey, Zel,-"
"Zelda please," she corrected.
"Sorry. Zelda. Can you do the pie trick again?"
"Sure, little dude." She knelt down so she was at eye level with
Goten. "What kind
would you like?"
"Wow, you're really gonna do the trick for me?!"
"Of course! You're Goku's son! You have to be a good person! How 'bout
you, Gohan?
Would you like something? I can do more than just pies, you know."
He blushed as much as Zelda had earlier. "No thanks, I'd hate to
impose..." he trailed
off.
"Oh, well. It's your decision. What kind of pie do you want, Goten?"
"Ooh! I want cherry! No, blueberry! No, apple! No-"
"How about I just get you some coffee cake?" Seeing the look on his
father's face,
she said, "Don't worry, Goku. No caffeine in it." She zapped one in,
it was steaming, just
the way Goten liked it. "Would you like some milk?"
"Oh, I'd hate to impose......" he said, jokingly, imitating his
brother. Gohan shot him a
dirty look. If Zelda and Goku hadn't been looking, he would've done something
else as
well.
"Don't worry, I need to practice, anyway."
"Oh. Okay then."
"Share that with your dad and brother before you eat it all, please."
He had already
eaten through more than half of the dessert. They all laughed.
Goten said with a smile, "Oh, I like this girl!!"
She zapped in some milk in three large glasses because she thought the other
two
would like some as well. "Thanks, Zelda," they all said with their
mouths full, in unison.
"Well, I just thought they should meet you. I'll talk to you later,
Zelda."
"No, I don't wanna go!!!!!" an angered Goten said, his Ki rising.
"Yeah, I want to stay too," said Gohan edging away from his father so
he couldn't
grab him and leave.
"It's okay, guys. You can come and visit anytime."
"OK, then, let's go, kids." The three men then departed.
***********************************************************************
Zelda was
in her room, writing in her journal about what had happened just a day
before. She was brought back to reality when she had a strong sensation, but
she could
not figure out what it meant. Suddenly, it hit her. It was a Ki signature!!
Maybe some of
Goku had rubbed off on her. She was surprised she could feel it. She didn't
know how,
but somehow she could sense that it was an evil Ki. Just then, she heard Goku's
voice in
her head once again. "Zelda! There is an e-"
"Evil Ki. I know, Goku."
Then, her brother came by her room and said, "Ooookay then, Zelda thinks
she can
talk to Goku."
"Quiet, you, this is important!" He said, whatever you say, and made
the universal
"crazy" sign by twirling his finger around his temple. She had
forgotten to freeze time
for fear of the new power. She quickly took care of it. Her brother looked
rather
comical, frozen in place with his finger and thumb in an "L" sign on
his forehead.
"Goku, can you come over now? And bring someone who might know where to
find
this, this, thing?"
"I think I have an idea, but sure, I'll bring, uhh, Krillin and
Gohan." Suddenly, Zelda
found herself in her room no longer alone but accompanied by three of the
universe's
strongest men, Krillin, Goku, and his son, Gohan.
"Wassup, guys? Goku, do you think you could give Krillin and Gohan an
explanation?
I'd probably just make them more confused than they already are."
"Ok, guys, here's the scoop." He then explained what you, reader,
already know.
"Wow, you mean there's another bad guy? I've had about enough of fighting
these
guys who think they can overtake Earth." Krillin looked like he was
kidding, but they
couldn't be sure.
"Well, Vegeta will sure be happy. Someone new to test his 'unbeatable
powers,'"
Gohan said, making air quotes with his fingers.
"Yeah, I bet he will. Goku, you said you had an idea of what is going
on?"
"Uhhh, well, I think when I was transported here, it kind of opened up a
portal, that
anyone could go through if they wanted to."
"You mean Earth could be destroyed and it would all be my fault?!? I can't
let this
happen!" she said, incredously.
"Well, I want to go around the town and search for the thing. It should be
easy, time
is frozen." So, they all left, Gohan carrying Zelda, as Goku's and
Krillin's eyesight was
better than either of the two eleven year-olds' were. "Man, this is weird.
And if I tell
anyone about meeting you guys, they'll just think I'm crazier than I already
am. Do you
know what that feels like?"
"What, you mean not fitting in? Trust me, I know how it feels. I'm the
third youngest
out of all of us, and the most powerful. Anyone not in our little group just
treats me
like some sort of outcast. I mean, look at me! Do I look like an eleven
year-old to you?"
Goku and Krillin were farther ahead now, so they did not hear the conversation.
Zelda
had to admit that, no, he didn't. Look at the muscles for crying out loud!!!
Gohan was
the reason her girlfriends even watched DBZ. She had had a little crush on
Gohan since
she got interested in the show. And now, meeting him, wow! What had she done to
deserve this!?
Gohan asked her how she had met his father.
"I was at the computer, you may have seen it yesterday, and I was working
on your
father's biography. I highlighted all of it, and wrote in place of it,
"Visit me." Then, he
just kind of emerged from the computer. So, here we are now, searching for a
villian,
and it's all my fault, just 'cause I wanted to make my petty dream come
true."
Gohan comforted her as best he could without dropping her onto the streets,
littered
with cars frozen in time. "Don't worry, Zelda. We'll find a way to beat
this new
monster. We always find a w-"
Then their conversation was interrupted by Goku and Krillin's voices in unison,
"There!!!! It's right there!"
Zelda
looked at it, and exclaimed, "Oh my Lord! It looks exactly like a
Saiyan!!!" They
soon realized she was right. How could anyone mistake the spiked black hair,
colorless
black eyes, huge muscles? It had to be a Saiyan. He had already wounded, and
killed, a
good number of citizens.
"Zelda, I need you to unfreeze time so I can confront him," Goku
said.
"What! Unfreeze time?!? Have you gone nuts? He could attack us any
second!!" A
frightened Krillin asked, yelled.
"Yeah, I have to agree with Krillin on this one, Dad."
"Actually, I think Goku's right. If he confronts him, we may be able to
find out
something important. Besides, if things get nasty, I can always freeze time
again, you
know, and get him out of there. Then, we can figure out a plan from from
there," Zelda
said, surprised at how much sense she had just made.
"Okay, you guys got that? I'll just go down there, you guys hang back, all
right? I'll
signal you if I need your help."
Goku then landed next to the mystery Saiyan, gracefully, as he always did. He
called
up, "Zelda, I'm waiting?"
"Oh, I'm sorry," she said and quickly unfroze time, leaving her
brother thinking,
<<Wasn't Zelda just here?>>
The Saiyan advanced on Goku. He was surprised, (When did this guy get here?) so
he
did not sense his powerful Ki.
"Hey, new guy! What do you think you're doing here, destroying this town
and it's
people?!" Goku had already gotten into his fighting stance.
"Who do you think you are, addressing the universe's strongest
fighter?" He shot an
alarmingly quick Ki blast at our friend Goku. He blocked it with that famous
finger of
his.
"Is that your best? Tell me what you are doing here! I could crush
you!" (Though he
wasn't exactly sure he could).
As all vilians do, he happily explained, because, well, Goku would be gone in a
few
minutes anyways. "I am a Saiyan-"
"I figured that," Goku interjected.
"I am a Saiyan," he continued, annoyed. Who was this guy? "From
the recently
resurrected Planet Kali."
"Don't you mean 'Planet Vegeta?'"
"No, my father is now King, and he and I share a name."
"Well, won't Vegeta be happy to hear that."
"What do you mean, 'Vegeta?' And how did you know that's what our planet
used to
be called?"
"Simple. It's where I was born, and he's one of my
friends...well...allies."
"What? You're a Saiyan? Vegeta's here?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"There is a huge reward for finding him unharmed on our planet!!!"
<<Oh, if I could
get this guy to tell me where he is...>>
Of course, Goku could read the more excited thoughts. So, he knew at least that
he
wanted to capture Vegeta. "If you think I'm going to tell you where he is,
you're dead
wrong. I'm not going to give up one of my friends just so you can get a stupid
reward."
Zelda greatly admired him for this, because we all know how nice Vegeta is to
Goku.
"Well, I'll just have to beat it out of you, then."
Zelda knew
what to do. She focused her mind, and of course, time soon froze. "Goku,
you want to come up here for a second?" He said sure. "Do you have
any idea what we
are going to do?"
"If I just go down there, maybe I can convince him to just peacefully tell
us what
he's doing here."
"Goku, do you really think that's going to work? He is a Saiyan! Do you
expect him to
just give up? You've seen Vegeta!!" Krillin said.
"Well, he doesn't want to give up, that's for sure," Gohan concurred.
"Just go down to him. If he doesn't tell you, just unleash your Ki. He
should be
sufficiently scared," Zelda said. No, lied. She knew it wasn't true, and
so did everyone
else there.
"Well, I'll try anything once. Gohan, Zelda, Krillin, you wanna come down
too? You can
never have too many reinforcements."
"Sure," Zelda said, scared.
"All right," Gohan replied.
"Whatever. To help you Goku," said Krillin. Krillin & Goku landed
sooner because Gohan
had to carry Zelda himself. She unfroze time, and Kali's reaction was:
"What are they doing here?! How did they get here? What's going on
here?!" He was,
of course, surprised, because hadn't he been alone with this arrogant man just
nanoseconds earlier? "What are you? You can't all be Saiyans. You three
are too young
to be Saiyans!"
"Well, maybe they are, and maybe they aren't," Goku said, with new
confidence,
because he now had his friends with him. Four-on-one wasn't exactly fair, he
knew, but
was Kali likely to play fair? "I want you to tell us what you are doing
here. Why are you
destroying people and towns that have no way to defend themselves?"
"Well, I wasn't expecting to land on Earth, of all places. It was supposed
to be
destroyed. Three times! Those Saiyans were weaklings, of course. It must have
run in
their families. They were brothers. One was, I think, Kalarot, or something,
and the
other was, ooh, Ladish. One, I believe you know, was Vegeta. I'm not perfectly
sure of
the other's names, but they were nothing against someone of my class. They were
third-class warriors, born with low power levels," he concluded, and could
see Goku was
angry. "What, did you know one of them? Angry two of them were killed by a
low-class
Namek?"
Goku's Ki was steadily rising. "That 'low-class Namek' is one of my
friends. And I am
Kakarot. Surprised to see me? Now, why did you come anywhere, if not aiming for
Earth? Just for the sake of destruction, or is there a higher purpose?"
"I was sent to this pitiful planet's moon. Apparently, there is a new life
form, and I
am here to take over that race. You can never have too many
reinforcements," he said,
echoing Goku's words just minutes before.
"Well, you better get out of here, quick," said Krillin. "Goku's
gonna mess you up if
you don't leave, really soon."
"Kali, do we have to fight? We can settle this-"
"Yeah, peacefully, I know. That's what everyone says, and, no, we can't
settle this
peacefully. I'm not giving up a planet and it's moon without a good
fight."
"Okay, whatever you say." He then whispered to Zelda, "I need
you to freeze time."
"All
right, Goku." Kali was suddenly frozen in a fighting stance. "Well,
Goku, what do
you suggest we do now?"
"Oooh, uhh, Zelda, do you think you could come along to our world? We need
to let
everyone know about this, and if you are there, well, you could, umm, unfreeze
time
real quick, and grab everyone, and then freeze time again."
"Of course, Goku, anything to help you and my world. Shall we go?"
She tipped an
imaginary top hat to Krillin. He then took her arm and plastered a huge, phony
smile on
his face. Zelda then did the same. She, like Krillin, could joke in a dangerous
situation.
She loved making people laugh. And that's just what they all did.
"Okay, everyone, grab onto my arm." He again put his two fingers to
his forehead and
they soon vanished. "Zelda, you okay? I know you've never done anything
like that
before."
Zelda was clutching her chest for lack of breath. "Yeah, I'm fine. I guess
you guys
are used to that?"
"Ha ha, yeah I guess we are. I mean, it's not too bad for us, but no
offense, you
can't manipulate your Ki," said Krillin, never wanting to offend anyone.
"Well, who all are we going to get? If you already know, we should go. I
know there's
Vegeta, he'll want to hear of a new Saiyan. And Trunks wants to prove himself
to old
Vegeta there, so I'm guessing we're getting him too?"
"Wow, Zelda, you do know a lot about us. I'm impressed," Gohan said,
his eyebrows
raised in mild astonishment. She blushed again.
"Well, I guess Capsule Corp. is our first stop. Gohan, take care of Zelda.
Me and
Krillin'll go on ahead and wait for you guys."
"K, seeya!" They said together.
"Okay, you ready to go? You're still catching your breath, aren't you?
It's okay, we
can take another couple of minutes to break." Gohan grabbed her hand after
a few
minutes to help her up. He swung her up quickly, not knowing his strength, and
almost
flung her right into him. "Okay, Zelda, this time, let's go," both of
them blushing more
furiously than either of them had before. Okay, she replied. They flew more
quickly
than when they had met Kali because they wanted to catch up with their two
friends
who would undoubtedly be waiting for them at Capsule Corp. "I'm sorry I'm
going so
fast," seeing that she was more than a bit nervous, as they were passing
over a lake.
"It's okay. It's like being on a roller coaster, only I don't have a ton
of corndogs and
snow cones sitting in my stomach. So, I guess it's better than being on a
coaster. It is
kind of fun flying when you're used to it, even if you're not the actual one
flying."
"Well, you want to see what it's like to actually fly?"
"Would I!!!!"
"Here, hang on." They had to pause to get in the correct position.
"Grab onto my hand
and don't let go." She said okay. She wasn't going to let go for anything.
She was
deathly afraid of heights. They started to fly. Gohan let Zelda stretch out,
both of
their arms spread-eagled.
"So this is why you guys fly! This is awesome!" It was the most
exhilarating thing she
had ever experienced. The wind blowing through her hair, being able to fly and
not be in
a cushioned seat with people badgering you about pillows and peanuts and
whatnot, and,
most of all, being with the Z team. "Thank you, but I think I see Krillin
and your dad."
"Oh! You're right! I'm going to speed up, so I'm sorry, you're gonna have
to stop
'flying.'"
"No problem," she replied. "Lets go catch up with them."
She didn't care. Maybe she
couldn't hold his hand, but being with him was enough.
"Okay. Hang on tight!" Soon, they caught up with the two of them.
They did that so
quickly because Goku had sensed their Ki's and told Krillin to slow down.
"Hey, you two! You aren't getting too cozy, are you?" Goku said,
laughing.
"Be quiet! You sound just like my mom!" Zelda said, laughing as well.
"I have no idea,
so please tell me, are we anywhere near Capsule Corp?"
"Oh, yeah, we're about a mile away!" Krillin told her. "Don't
worry, it won't take us
too much longer." She said thanks. Soon, they were there. Bulma and Dr.
Briefs were
standing outside watching Chibi Trunks show off his powers. Vegeta was also
watching,
but from a distance so no one would know he cared about his son.
Krillin walked, no, hovered over to Vegeta. He put bunny ears on him, made
faces at
him, and said, "Man, we should have brought a camera!"
"Zelda,
I believe you know what to do," said Gohan. Yet again, she unfroze time.
Bulma said, "What on Earth are you doing here? And who's the new girl?
Gohan's new
girlfriend?" she asked, teasing both of them.
"Not yet, Bulma. But you never know," Goku told the blue-haired woman
with a wink
that made Gohan and Zelda scream and Krillin roll on the ground with laughter.
"Listen,
Bulma. This girl's name is Zelda. She's from another dimension. There's a new
Saiyan in
her town that wants to take over the world. We need-"
"What! A new Saiyan! What in the world are you talking about!" Vegeta
said, emerging
from the shadows that concealed him so well. "You're wrong Kakarot! You,
me, Trunks,
and those sons of yours are the only Saiyans left after that damned Frieza blew
up
our planet."
"Yes, Vegeta, but-"
"Umm, Vegeta, there is a new Saiyan in my dimension." Zelda wasn't
sure why she
said that, but she was scared. Standing up to Vegeta was not a smart thing to
do if you
value your life. "His name is Kali, and his father is king of the planet,
which is now that
name. He was sent to the moon to take over a new race."
"Who is this woman, Kakarot? She's not even a woman, but a mere girl! Why
is she
with you? I can't even sense her Ki signature," he said, folding his arms
across his chest
with a smug look on his face, as if he had won an argument.
Goku and Gohan said together, "Why don't you try a bit harder,
Vegeta?" There was
another *Ping!* as he realized he was wrong. He hid his amazement, though not
very
well.
"Well, I think Vegeta gets it," Krillin said happily.
"Goku, guys, Kali will be destroying my world about now, so let's go get
the others."
He said okay.
"Miss Bulma, where is Mirai Trunks?" Zelda asked, knowing he would
want to fight
and show Vegeta what he could do.
"Just Bulma, please, and-"
"Right here!" He had just come out of the house, feeling Zelda's Ki.
"What was that?
Who are you?"
"Uh, that Ki was mine. The name's Zelda. I guess I've got powers, so
that's why my
Ki is so high."
"What?! That was you?" She said yeah.
"Okay, everyone grab Zelda's arm. She'll freeze time so we can get the
others. I'll
explain on the way."
"You know, I'm going to run out of arm room pretty soon!" Once again,
time froze.
"I'll take Mom," Mirai Trunks said, a Ki net forming around each
member of the Z
team.
"I'll take Zelda," Gohan said as well, making her blush, but only he
saw.
Goku explained to everyone what was going on, flying at the same time.
"So, there's a new Saiyan? And Vegeta's not prince anymore?" Bulma
asked.
"Right," Zelda replied. She was happy, because Bulma couldn't fly
either.
"Be quiet, woman! I will always be prince, I am the strongest."
"Ok, whatever, but where are we going now?" That was a question the
others would
have liked answered also.
"We
are going to pick up anyone else who'll come with us." They soon landed on
Master Roshi's island. Yamcha was frozen sparring with Tien. His foot was about
to
connect with Tien's face. Chaozu was bringing food out for the others. Roshi
and
Oolong were watching aerobics on TV. Krillin decided to have some fun with
Yamcha and
picked up Tien and moved him out of the way of Yamcha's foot.
"Zelda?" Goku and Gohan said together.
"Sorry. I'm just kind of in awe. I've only seen this place on TV at home
before." She
unfroze time, Yamcha's foot connecting with nothing but air.
Yamcha said, "What the? I was perfectly positioned for that kick! Oh,
Goku. Stop
with the Instant Transmission thing!"
"Yeah! It freaks me out!" Tien agreed.
"I didn't! It was-"
"Hey, who's the new girl? Gohan's friend?" Yamcha interrupted,
confused.
"Her name is Zelda. Her world is being destroyed by a new Saiyan. She
froze time
and we flew here. Just grab her arm so we can get Piccolo."
"What?" Tein asked, baffled. What was Goku talking about?
"Just do it!" he yelled, not wanting Zelda's world to be destroyed
any further.
"Zelda?" Once again, Chaozu was frozen with a bowl of soup he held in
his hands,
Master Roshi & Oolong watching the TV. They flew towards Piccolo's Ki,
minus Zelda
and Bulma, as they weren't flying, but being carried. Goku was tired of
explaining, so
Gohan explained further for Yamcha and Tien.
Piccolo was floating by a waterfall, meditating as usual. It was almost hard
for them
to tell if time was frozen or not, because Piccolo didn't move while
meditating. Zelda
unfroze time, and Piccolo's head immediately shot up. He said, alarmed,
"Who is that,
Goku!? What is she doing here? Do you read that Ki signature?"
"Yes, Piccolo," he replied calmly, as he always spoke. "Gohan,
please explain."
"Okay, Dad. Mr. Piccolo, this is Zelda. Her world is going to be destroyed
by a new
Saiyan named Kali. Please, come and help us defeat him."
"Yeah, OK kid. I'll go with you."
"Thank you, Piccolo." Zelda was so happy. Piccolo was her favorite
non-human fighter.
"I know we can beat him."
Goku told everyone to take hold of Zelda's arm once again. Piccolo complied,
knowing
Goku always knew the right thing. They all looked very silly, and if anyone
were to pass
by they would have laughed out loud. They were all clinging to Zelda's arms,
but she
only had two. She was right, she had no more room for anyone else to accompany
them.
Time once again froze. Then Goku performed the Instant Transmission technique.
Zelda had some company lying on the ground this time, for Bulma had never
experienced something like that either. "Bulma, you alright? I had to do
the same thing
earlier. It'll take a little while for you to recover." She said this all
pausing between
words because she hadn't yet recovered either.
"I'll be fine. Man, you guys! How do you put up with that?"
"Well, like I said to Zelda earlier, you guys aren't as strong as
us," Krillin said to
Bulma. "Well, as soon as these two are ready, you want to go find Kali? I
know time has
been frozen most of the time, but he probably wants to expand his
destruction."
Bulma and
Zelda weren't quite ready, but after about five minutes, they were once
again off to find Kali. They even had to leave city limits to find him. When
they had
searched for nearly half an hour, Bulma shouted, "Is that him!?" She
could also
recognize a Saiyan when she saw one. They again saw what a human girl had
pointed out
was correct. There was a Ki blast frozen in mid-air aimed at a large building.
"Well,
what should we do?"
"Ok, all of you. We are going to go down there and fight if we have
to."
"What!?!?!?!" Bulma and Zelda said in fear. "How are we supposed
to fight? You are
the strong ones here!" They couldn't believe it! He expected them to
fight! Against a
Saiyan! <<Is he nuts?>> they both thought, as well as the rest of
them.
"You guys, no offense, but you can just kinda stand there. He was scared
when there
were only four of us. What do you think he'll do now?" Goku said, knowing
they were
frightened, but he wanted to leave this world unharmed, free of battle.
She unfroze time, and Kali freaked out. "Arrrrrrrrrrggghhhhhhhhh!!!! How
do you do
that?!?!?!?!?" There was a loud explosion as Goku dived underneath the Ki
blast and
shot a larger one at it, knocking both into the stratosphere. None of them even
flinched. Even Zelda and
Bulma didn't, wanting to scare Kali. "There's even more of you now!? Stop
that!"
"We'll stop when you stop destroying innocent people!" They were all
thinking the
same thing Gohan had said.
"If we have to fight, we are going to do it away from this place."
Goku did not want
to damage anything more. (Besides Kali, of course.) They all flew away. Zelda
froze
time with no one but Bulma. She had some experimenting to do.
"Zelda! What did you do? They're all just......stuck there!"
"I think I could fly if I tried to concentrate my powers. I'm going to try
and
somehow give some powers to you as well. If he sees that we can't fly, he'll
know we
can't fight him, and then what will we do? Just, hang on a second." She
concentrated
for five minutes and....fell over with exhaustion. She had tried too hard. She
tried again,
and............started to levitate!
Bulma cried out, "Zelda! You're going to float away!"
"Oh my Lord! I did it!" She floated down towards Bulma. "I guess
all that time
watching all of you taught me something!" She was elated. She could fly!
"Okay, now,
this may hurt, I don't know, I've never tried to do this. Give me your
arm."
She tentatively held out her hand. "Okay......What are you going to
do?"
"I am going to try and somehow let you fly." Zelda was glad Bulma
trusted her so
much to let her do this. Bulma didn't even know what she was going to do. She
concentrated hard and bit her lip until it drew blood. She paid her nouth no
mind. Bulma
started to scream. Zelda would have but she knew she had to concentrate. They
could
see a bright jet of light traveling from Zelda's hand to Bulma's. Both of their
entire
bodies were glowing bright blue. Suddenly they both collapsed to the ground.
After
over ten minutes of them lying on the ground, breathing heavily, Zelda slowly
got up.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry, but it had to be done."
"I
think I'll be okay after a few more minutes. Man, that was tough." She
slowly got
up too. "Do you think it worked?"
"I hope so. Otherwise, that was all for nothing." She steadily flew
up from the
ground, until she was above Bulma's height. "Why don't you try?"
Bulma got about half
a foot off the ground, and then fell to the ground once more.
"Whoa. Whoa. That was weird. I'm going to try again." Zelda was still
hovering a foot
or two off the ground. Bulma suddenly rose above her.
"You did it! Okay, let's go-"
"Kick some Kali butt!" Bulma interrupted.
"Man, are the guys gonna be surprised!" Zelda said with a smile. She
unfroze time and
the team took off after Goku and Kali.
"What!" Gohan yelled with huge eyes. "You guys are.......flying!
When did you learn to
do that?" Then he remembered Zelda's ability. He was impressed. She caught
on
quickly.
"Just now," Bulma said, smiling despite the seriousness of the
situation.
"I'll explain later," Zelda said, struggling to keep up with the rest
of them. "Let's just
try to stay focused on Kali." She almost cried out when she saw a Ki trail
behind her. It
was so weird! They soon landed.
Kali said, "Okay, which of you will fight me first? A Saiyan? A human? A
woman?
Who'll it be? I want to get this over with and report back."
"I will fight you first," Goku said calmly. "I will not let this
world be harmed
anymore."
"Alright. Let's go!" Kali was in a fighting stance. One hand was next
to his face, his
fingers curled, and the other was in front of his face, his first finger
straight, the rest
inclined. His left eyebrow was raised in curiosity of his newest opponent.
Goku was not the first to strike. "Soul Shot!!!!" Kali cried. He
gathered energy with
his arms half-folded across his chest. He then slowly drew them away and turned
his
hands to face Goku. An incredibly large blue-yellow Ki blast shot at Goku. He
was
almost not fast enough to dodge it. It grazed his side. The impact was almost
enough to
send him flying, but he stood his ground.
"Kame......" Goku started. "Hame......." His hands were in
a clam-shaped position. A ball
of blue-white energy was slowly enlarging. "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!"
It shot point-
blank at Kali! It hit him in the foot, injuring him badly. Of course, he would
not admit it,
but it hurt almost enough to stop him from fighting. Almost. He was on the
ground for
several minutes, but of course, Goku being the good guy, didn't hit him.
He shot a Ki blast at our hero. It was the largest any of the Z team had ever
seen!!
He had faked being down for so long and had been gathering energy. He was
running
out of energy, and fast. One more shot like that, and he was toast. "Is
that all you
got?" Goku asked, amazed at the Ki blast. Saiyans were very good at
bluffing, Zelda
thought. Goku shot a normal Ki blast at his enemy, for they were both running
out of
energy.
"Let's stop with the energy attacks. I'm running out and I know you are
too. Let's
just fight hand and foot."
"Alright," Kali said, glad he didn't have to point that out himself.
Goku charged at Kali.
He wasn't expecting that, so the head butt to the stomach hit him head on. He
had the
wind knocked out of him, but he still managed a painful kick to Goku's own
stomach.
They both Zanzokened up into the air. Kali kicked Goku again upward. He
Zanzokened
above him. He then intertwined his fingers and bashed them into Goku's head.
Our
friend was heading full-force towards the ground. He stopped himself less than
3
inches from it. Kali contemplated another Soul Shot, but decided against it. It
might
drain him too much.
Goku charged, but Kali saw and flew upwards. Goku predicted this and Instant
Transmissioned behind him and performed a well-placed kick in his knee pit and
broke
Kali's leg. "Ahhhhhhhh!" he screamed. He charged at Goku, but he was
too fast and
Instant Transmissioned away from the attack. "Damn you!!!!" Goku
kicked Kali in the
back and sent him spiraling downward to the ground. The evil Saiyan face
planted
himself and couldn't get up. "Dammit," he muttered under his breath,
furious he was
beaten by a third-class Saiyan.
"So, it looks like I won! Are you going to leave now?" Goku asked,
knowing the answer
would be no. If he was a prince, then his bloodline must be powerful. The only
to be
king on Planet Vegeta was to be the strongest among them.
"I will never give up! It would be an insult to my family's honor!!"
Honor can make
people funny sometimes, they all thought at once. He had been conserving his
power
while he was down and flew straight at Goku. He was hit head on and fell to the
ground.
<<I can not let this world's people suffer!>> Goku thought,
thinking of what on this
Earth and any other planets he could do.
"Hah!
Giving up so easily? I would've expected more from a Saiyan!"
"What?! You doubt the Saiyan race! How dare you!" Of course, that was
Vegeta. He
didn't give a flying rat's booty about this Zelda girl or her planet, but his
pride was the
only thing bigger than his ego. "I will fight you if pathetic Kakarot will
not." Vegeta
stepped up to Kali. "Someone move his body!" Oh, no, he didn't care
about Goku, if
that's what you are thinking, he just didn't want him getting in his way. Of
course, a
Super Saiyan like Vegeta needs all the room he can get. "Let's do
this." Vegeta had the
advantage, as Kali could only fight close-range, and Vegeta still had all his
energy left,
but he didn't care. He loved a new opponent, even if it was unfair.
Kali pointed this out of course. Vegeta's reaction? "You should talk of
fair! You come
to this world and it can't defend itself, and did you worry about fair then?
No, I didn't
think so!" He was surprised at himself. <<Oh, no! Now they'll think
I care!>>
"Well, okay, let's go," Kali said, resignedly, he just wanted to get
this over with. Even
if he did lose. Yes, a Saiyan who knew he would lose. He flew at Vegeta, but he
dodged,
Zanzokened behind him, and punched him with both hands in the back. Kali went
flying,
and almost hit the others. He then flew slowly over to Vegeta. Vegeta thought
he was
planning some cunning attack. However, Kali was just trying to trick him. He
sped up,
and punched Vegeta in the chest. Before it made contact, he caught it with his
white
gloved hand. He then turned his hand around and puched him with his own two
hands,
and Kali's, now very bloodied, hand.
He was just letting Vegeta win now. If he was going to die, at least it was at
the
hands of a Saiyan. Then he heard his father's voice in his head, <<What
are you doing,
son? Letting yourself be beaten by someone who didn't try to defend his planet,
but
worked for its destroyer? If you really cared about our honor, you would
destroy
him!>>
"He's right," Kali said to no one in particular, mostly himself.
"I cannot let myself die
like this!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" His hair turned a
bright
yellow, brighter than any of the others' had ever been. He had achieved a new
level:
Super Saiyan 5!! Vegeta was blown away just by the force of the power. He
landed
right between Bulma and Zelda. No one else was going to volunteer to fight if
they
wanted to live.
Mirai
Trunks was next to step up. He felt he had to fight for his father. "Your
rampage of evil is over, Kali! I will fight for those who have tried and
failed!" Maybe he
was not at the same level as Kali, but if the power of the imposter king was
enough to
make someone go SSJ5, the rightful king ought to do the same. This time, Kali
had the
advantage. He should have lost a great deal of energy, but it was instead
replenished
tenfold. Trunks how low his chances were, but he had to at least try. He, too,
had Saiyan
blood running through his veins. And with it came that awful pride.
"Let's do this!!!!" Kali said, armed now with his new power and the
fear of his
adversary. "Soooouuuuuuuulll Shooooooottttttttt!!!!!!!!" he cried. An
even bigger Ki blast
than the one that hit Goku flew at an alarming speed towards Trunks. He dodged
it, but
barely. It hit him in the left foot. The dust settled, and it was gone! Trunks
would have
to manage with just one foot for a while.
He looked down at his lower appendage, of lack thereof, with disbelief. How
could
this happen? Could he fight with only his right foot? He had to try some
attack,
anything that might hurt Kali. "Masenko! HAAA!" Trunks shot a huge
Masenko at his
enemy. It hit him, and......didn't faze him at all.
"Is that all? I thought you would perform better, being the son of King
Vegeta."
"We will defeat you. I know we will." Trunks knew when he would lose.
He knew that
if he did not beat him, Gohan, Piccolo, or maybe that strange new girl, Zelda,
would
triumph over Kali.
"Is that so?" He asked in an annoyingly over-confident voice. "I
don't think you are
correct." He shot a small Ki blast at Trunks and sent him sprawling tens of
yards away.
He landed right next to his father, a very appropriate landing.
Zelda and Bulma started to tend to the both of them, shielded from Kali's sight
by
Tien, Yamcha, and Piccolo. Bulma had a first-aid Capsule. There was one little
problem.
They did not know what to do! There were only signs of unconsciousness, no real
signs
of damage at all. If someone were to come by, they would most likely think the
two
Saiyan were asleep. Gohan slipped behind Piccolo and began to help them,
because he
had been through this before. He showed the two confused girls how to treat the
wounds.
"I
will be next to fight." Piccolo's deep, gruff voice startled them all.
"I will try my
hardest." They were not surprised when they heard what he was doing.
Piccolo liked a
good fight. He hovered over to Kali, keeping a distance of a few yards. He got
into a
fighting stance. "So, you think I'm a low-class Namek, huh? Well, see what
this 'low-class
Namek' can do!!! Special Beam Cannon!!!!" He had been charging this while
watching
Vegeta and Trunks. Piccolo knew he would have to fight. An attack that looked
like a
purple and yellow corkscrew flew at Kali. It hit him in the right arm and there
appeared a
huge hole in it.
"Damn you," he muttered under his breath. He had let his guard down
after beating
those three disgraces to the Saiyan race. That freaking Namek had hit him full
on. Ohh,
he would get him, all right. He would get him good. Kali limped, though
swiftly, at Piccolo
and head butted him in the stomach. It knocked to the ground.
He groaned, for the force of the attack was incredible. Plus, it was
unexpected, and
he had not much energy after that first attack. He did not know if he could
fight any
longer. Kali was a good fighter. He had good strategies, using brain and brawn,
much
like Vegeta.
"Aww, is the little Namek okay? Maybe a little kick'll get ya back up on
your feet!"
He kicked Piccolo in the face. Our Namekian Friend began to bleed, but nothing
like our
blood. He then put a well-placed kick between Kali's legs. He doubled over on
the
ground. Piccolo got up, tentatively, his leg was, not broken, but very injured.
"I told you I'd show you what a Namek can do." He bent down and
hoisted Kali up,
only to punch him in the face, drawing blood from his mouth. He dropped him to
the
ground and walked away.
"Mr. Piccolo! Look out!" He looked back to see another Soul Shot,
and......was hit in the
upper body. His left arm was hit off, and he fell over, unconscious as well as
the others.
Tien and Yamcha dragged him over to Zelda and Bulma, who pretty much had a
mini-
hospital going.
Gohan was
nowhere to be seen, until they heard his voice from where Kali was: "That
was a mistake. My father, my friend, his father, and now my teacher. You will
pay."
Truth be told, he had gotten to like Zelda. Maybe he even lo- No, no, now the
fight. He
did not want anything bad to happen to her or her planet.
Zelda somehow sensed this and thought, <<Come on, Gohan. I know you can
beat him.
You're our last hope.>> He heard her and was filled with new courage.
Gohan said that all calmly, his Ki rising slowly. Kali did not notice because:
"What! A kid! You've got to be kidding me! You really think this little
runt can beat
me. This is all you have to offer: A small boy. Well, your planet is as good as
ours now.
You had better say your goodbyes." They all had a feeling that this area
wouldn't come
off well after a fight between these two all-powerful Saiyans. They had seen
previous
Saiyan-on-Saiyan fights.
"I will not let this world be destroyed!! You think you can just show up
here and take
over the planet? It's not going to happen!!!!!!" His hair turned yellow,
only the first level.
He didn't want to expend too much energy; he knew this was a worthy opponent
and
would drain him of it. "Let's go!!!!! KameHameHa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He
performed the same
attack his father had done just a while earlier.
It missed him by less than an inch. Kali lucked out. "Is that all? I
should have known,
you are a mere boy!" Surely if he had made that remark to Vegeta, he would
have
reached the same level as he, maybe higher. But Gohan being Gohan, he didn't
care one
bit. They all believed what he said, but he was alarmed at the boy's power. He
could
feel the attack's power though it did not hit him.
"Disenko!!!!!!" Kali gathered energy with his arms halfway to his
legs and spread apart.
He then brought them together above his head. The separate parts were blue and
yellow. When they were brought together, they meshed into green. He then thrust
his
hands in front of him and forced the blast out. It hit Gohan in the stomach. It
sent him
to the ground clutching his stomach. (Zelda mentally gasped. She was worried.
She
would fit right in with Chi-Chi.) He sat like that for a few minutes, waiting
for what Kali
might do to him. But Kali, curious, waited for Gohan to strike again.
<<Man, this guy's tough,>> Gohan thought, contemplating his next
move. <<I will have to
fight with my whole power.>> "Masenko!!!" he cried, using the
same attack his friend,
now lying on the ground, slowly coming to, had used. This time, the attack hit
Kali in his
own stomach.
It hit him extremely hard. It was enough to send him flying almost a hundred
yards
away. He screamed. "Damn you! How dare you strike the universe's most
powerful
fighter!!! I will get you for that!!" He shot a normal Ki blast at Gohan.
He dodged it with
all the ease in the world.
Then, the blast began to follow him! Everywhere he flew, there it was. He even
traveled towards the others, much to their surprise and fright. He flew to
Kali, hoping
the blast would hit him, but Kali jumped out of the way. Gohan then flew into
the lake
nearby. The homing blast lost all of it's power. "Dammit!!!" Kali
cried, in anguish for his
blast could not hit a mere boy. "How could you do that?" <<Oh,
well. I guess he is a
Saiyan. At least he's performed better than these other wusses.>>
"AHHHHHH! Masenko!!!! Ha!!" Gohan cried, using an attack that had hit
once already.
He thought, if it hit him once, maybe it would again. He was right. It engulfed
Kali in all
it's yellow energy glory. He was blown away once again by a "mere
boy's" attack.
Kali kept going over in his head (while he was flying, unwillingly) how could
he let this
eleven year-old Saiyan triumph over the Prince of Saiyans? What was he doing?
Why
was he fighting this...this....boy?!? He thought, <<If he is going to
make my father suffer,
I will make his father suffer.>> He shot a Ki blast at the already
injured Goku. It hit
him in the hair. No one can really aim that well when they've been blown
backwards and
their mind is clouded with thoughts of letting their father down. He finally
landed,
about a mile away. He started to curse that boy.
Then, "that boy" landed a few feet from him. He dared not approach
any closer, for
his Ki was incredible. He said to the fallen Saiyan, "Had enough? Are you
ready to give
up?" He might as well have not asked. Of course he was not going to give
up.
"I will never give up! It would make me a disgrace. I could never return
to Planet
Kali." He said the last word with emphasis and shot a look at Vegeta.
Vegeta had hurt
him badly and he was not going to forgive him anytime soon.
He punched Gohan in the face and it drew blood. Gohan would have cried out, but
that would only tell Kali he was afraid. "Is that all? You are Prince
Kali, aren't you?
Can't you do better than that?" <<There's that bluffing talent
again,>> Zelda thought.
Gohan then punched Kali in the stomach with all the force he could muster.
"Ooooooofff," Kali groaned. <<Why am I letting myself be beaten
by a boy? How can I
let this happen?>>
He pointed his finger and shot Kali with a small Ki blast (to him, at least).
It hit him
with all the force it possibly could have. He doubled over, to Gohan's
surprise.
<<Shouldn't he be doing better than this? Maybe that transformation
really did drain
him of some of his energy......>>
They had not noticed, but Zelda and Bulma had, that Gohan and Kali were not
really
using their Ki. Bulma asked Zelda about this. "Why aren't they using
energy anymore?"
She replied, "They-"
"Are starting to run out of it."
"And if they use all of it, they will have none later."
Zelda and Bulma were astonished. Goku and Trunks had recovered so quickly. They
both looked at Vegeta at the same time. He also added to the answer to Bulma's
question. "Kali is more worried because he thinks he will crush Kakarot's
half-breed. He
wants to have enough energy for his next fight."
"Wow, guys!" The two girls exclaimed in unison.
"How do you do that?"
"Do what?" Trunks asked Zelda, innocently.
"Get better so quickly!" she said with her eyebrows raised.
"I don't know. It's just always sort of happened."
"It's in our blood, Zelda." Goku said with a smile on his face.
"I guess Saiyans-"
"We always recover at miraculous speeds. For once, Kakarot is right. It is
in the
Saiyan bloodline to recover because we get into battles. It's an
adaptation." She was
surprised he had answered with such niceness, if not to Goku.
<<Maybe he's beginning to get used to me?>> she wondered, spacing
out, her eyes
unfocusing.
"Yo! Zelda! You're missing one heck of a fight here!" Goku shook her
out of her
crazy thoughts.
He was right. Kali had kicked Gohan in the face. Gohan kicked upwards instinctively
and Kali flew. He then Zanzokened behind him and bashed his head back towards
the
ground. The rest of Kali followed.
Gohan flew with lightning-speed down to Kali. He snuck another Soul Shot out at
Gohan. It hit him with such force that it knocked him out and blew him into the
mini-
hospital. Zelda thought, <<Oh, crap! What will we do! With Gohan and
everyone else
gone, how will we defeat Kali!?>> All the others were thinking pretty
much the same
thing. (Besides Vegeta, of course.)
"Well,
it looks like I win! Kiss your pitiful planet goodbye!"
"NOOO!" <<Crap!>> Zelda yelled out before she knew was
doing. "You can't destroy
my planet! I will not let you!!!"
"A girl! This is all you have to protect your planet! Well, let's get this
over with. Say
goodbye to your friends, woman!" He had a smirk on his face that was
extremely
annoying.
"Good will prevail!!!" She was very scared. How was she going to
defend herself, let
alone, her planet, against a SSJ5! She decided to try and use her powers to
fight Kali.
Zelda began to power up, leaving Kali wondering what this girl could possibly
have to
offer. All of a sudden Zelda shot a blue-white jet of light from her finger
that looked
surprisingly like a narrow KameHameHa. It hit Kali in the arm that didn't
already have a
hole in it. (Left) Kali now had matching holes in his arms. "How dare
you!" <<First that
Saiyan boy, now a mere female. What an insult to my heritage, fighting
children,>> Kali
thought, angered. Children!
"I will help my planet! I will not let it be destroyed by the likes of
you!" She brought
her hands halfway to her sides. She shut her eyes, clearing her mind. She let
the
thoughts of her world being destroyed after everyone had failed flow into her
brain.
The anger boiling up inside her was incredible. Suddenly, lightning began to
crackle in
her palms. She raised her hands, it was as if she had always known what to do
at this
point, above her head. Zelda shouted, "Lightning Blast!!" and her
hands found their way
in front of her body. All the blue-green lightning that had been gathering shot
at Kali.
It hit the Saiyan in the stomach. He groaned and doubled over. How could that
girl
have done this to him? Kali did not see how this...female could bring an
all-powerful
Saiyan Prince to his knees. He thought that he should at least try for an
energy attack.
He again brought his hands halfway to his knees. "Disenko!!!" Another
green energy
blast flew at his adversary. She dodged it. Almost. It hit Zelda in the arm,
knocking her
right hand off and away towards the others, recovering.
She was surprised at herself. She didn't think she would be able to dodge any
of his
attacks. Zelda doubted that she could move that fast again very soon.
Her doubts were put to the test. Kali flew at her, now with a broken leg,
missing a
foot, and with a hole in each arm. She then remembered that she could fly as
well.
Zelda flew upwards, but not quickly enough. Kali grabbed her foot. He swung her
downwards towards the ground. She then grabbed her enemy's foot and they
tumbled
into the air in a circle.
Zelda decided to try her luck at physical attacks. She punched Kali in the
face. He
flew up and it hit him in the knee that was broken. He screamed out. She
couldn't
believe it! Her punch had actually hurt Kali. She was as surprised as she was
when Goku
had told her she had a Ki signature at all, let alone a large one.
Kali kicked Zelda in her own face. She thought she would cry out when she saw
the
foot coming, but when it connected, she found it didn't really hurt that much.
So, she decided to try again. She tried for a head butt to the stomach. He flew
up
and kicked her in the face. This time, she screamed. It was the most powerful
thing she
had ever felt. She could not believe how the Z fighters could put up with this
every
time they fought.
She began to gather dark blue energy in her palms with her hands spread out
above
her head. The separate balls of energy soon converged into one huge ball of
energy,
constantly growing upward. Zelda threw the blast at Kali. It missed Kali, but
barely. It
almost hit him, less than a foot away from him, but it scared him.
She could see this, and used it to her advantage. She flew up to him, swiftly,
and
punched him in the face. He was so scared of the previous attack that he did
not notice
her flying up to him. When reality hit him, he felt it, and then realized that
it was the
"mere girl." He punched Zelda in her face. She hardly felt it, elated
that she was
winning the fight.
She kicked Kali in the arm, right near the hole. That made it hurt even more.
Zelda
used the pain she had just caused as surprise and punched him in the nose. He
started
to bleed, badly. She stood by for about a minute, waiting for him to get up and
continue.
When he finally did, he punched her in the left kneecap (He was still on the
ground)
and they all heard the crack. She screamed and kicked him in the face, hard.
She was
dangerous when provoked.
Kali was recovering, and fast. Zelda was worried. What could she do when he
fully
recovered? <<I had better hit him while he is still not fast enough to
dodge.>>
"Soul Shot!!" She hadn't a chance to hit him, he hit her first. It
covered Zelda
completely. She was hidden in the blue-yellow blast. She emerged after the dust
settled, bloodied and bruised. She could hardly believe it! The blast was even
more
powerful than that first kick. She felt for Goku and Vegeta and the others. Now
she
knew what it felt like. Zelda would have to get him for that; hitting her and
for the
others.
"Lightning Blast!!" she cried, after the thoughts of the pain and of
what the others
had experienced had made her so angry she had to do something to vent her
anger. It
hit Kali for the second time. He was blown backwards, about fifty yards away.
She
struggled to keep up with him. She was baffled her attack was this powerful.
When they both landed, she kicked him in the face once again. His lip split and
started
to bleed. "You see! This is what happens when you mess with the Earth! You
had better
add one to that list of Saiyans who tried and failed."
Kali jumped up and backed away, now aware that this enemy was not one to be
trifled with. He yelled, to Zelda's surprise, "Disenko!!" Again, he
gathered energy and
fired the blast at Zelda. She dodged it, but barely. It would have hit her in
the right
hand if she still had one, but it passed right by.
Zelda tried another Lightning Blast. It missed her target. He jumped up out of
the
way. It hit a large hill that was behind him. Kali gathered another Soul Shot.
He shot it
out and.....it enveloped Zelda!
She emerged, unscathed, but with Kali's Soul Shot above her head, mixed with
her
own Lightning Blast. There was a huge ball of green energy, with lightning
bolts jumping
around it. She hurled it at Kali.
It hit him full-force. He blew away and up, breaking apart. Literally! The
mixture of
the two attacks must have been too much for him to take. He must have been more
vulnerable to the attack he had invented than any other. "I'll get you for
this!!" he
cried, just before he disintegrated.
Zelda collapsed to the ground. Combining those attacks, all that energy, in her
hands,
had been too much for her to take. She had been counting on that last attack to
hit and
kill him. If it hadn't, she would not be able to fight any longer.
The others
rushed over to help her. (Well, Trunks arrived there after the others, for
obvious reasons.) "Wow, Zelda!! How did you do that? You have to teach me
how to!"
Gohan was first to speak to the victor.
"Maybe later, Gohan. It'd be kind of tough seeing as I'm totally worn out
!" she said
this with mock anger. "I kinda just want to sit down and rest for a
while." They were
more than happy to let her. She had just destroyed Kali after Goku, Vegeta,
Trunks,
Piccolo, and Gohan could not!
"Let's all just let her. She's just had a really hard fight." Goku
picked her up. She
fell limply. Goku put his two first fingers to his forehead. He performed the
Instant
Transmission. They all flew back to Capsule Corp. Bulma sure was happy. She
didn't
have to be carried this time.
***********************************************************************
When they arrived, Mrs. Briefs was standing outside. Of course, she offered
them......
cookies!! They declined the offer. Bulma told her mother they were all going
inside.
Piccolo had to bend over to fit through the door.
"Zelda, you want to sit on the couch? We can watch the T.V." Bulma
led them all to
the living room. She helped Zelda over to the couch. They all sat down. A few
of them
sat on the floor.
"Thank you. Man, that really wipes you out. I guess you guys can
relate."
"Yeah, we have kinda gotten used to it." Gohan said to her.
"I don't know about you, but it still wipes me out." Krillin said
with a smile on his face.
"That was cool, Zelda, how you destroyed him. I would've never been able
to do that."
"Oh yeah, that was awesome. I agree with Krillin," Goku concurred.
They didn't know that they were pretty much talking to themselves. Zelda had
fallen
asleep sitting up, and it looked like she was still awake. "Uh, guys!
She's asleep!" Bulma
pointed out what she alone had noticed.
"Oh! Oops!" Goku said, putting his hand behind his head in his
trademark pose. "We
better stay quiet."
In about five minutes, she woke up. "Ohh," she started, stretching.
She was careful
not to stretch too far to either side, or she would have bumped into Bulma or
Goku.
"That was a nice nap." She was full of newfound energy. "Sorry
'bout that. I just
kinda had to doze there."
"It's alright. We understand. We've been there." Gohan said, his face
still decorated
with minor bruises here and there. "Are you okay? That was an awesome
battle."
"Yeah, I'm fine. That nap helped a bit. Just don't ask me to perform an energy
attack for about.....I don't know......a year or two. Yes, that sounds about
right." They all
laughed out loud. Even Piccolo stifled a chuckle.
"What do you want to do?" Bulma asked Zelda.
"Whatever she says, just make sure you do it, and quick. You do not want
to mess
with her. Look out!" Krillin said to Bulma.
She laughed. "Oh, be quiet, you! But really, what do you want to do?"
"I don't care, as long as it has nothing at all to do with Kali. I guess I
should go back
to my home. My parents will freak if they find out I just destroyed a Saiyan.
What do
you think I should do? Should I tell them I'm leaving home and be a fighter?
Man, I
should do that to see how they would react. But, I really should go home. Goku,
would
you mind?"
"Huh? Oh, sure! Be right back, you guys!"
"Wait, you two! We have to say our goodbyes first! And I am coming with
you." Bulma
said to the two of them. Goku and Zelda were ready to go when she startled
them.
"Yeah, goodbye, Zelda! You know we're going to come and see you!"
Gohan was first
to say his goodbye. He was saddened that she was leaving.
"Yeah, we'll be seein' you. Don't go opening any more portals without
telling us first."
Krillin said bye with a smile on his face.
It was about a half-hour before they were all finished saying their farewells.
"Well, bye this time guys. Just a sec."
***********************************************************************
He used
the Instant Transmission and brought the two girls back to Zelda's house.
They walked in, but only after Zelda froze time. When they entered, the house
was
empty, and they noticed one minor difference in her home. The entire back was
gone!
Then, they found the most horrible thing.
Her family had been killed by Kali. "Oh my Lord! What happened?! Goku!
Is..no...is my
family.......no, it can't be!"
"I'm sorry Zelda." Goku looked as compassionate as it is possible for
someone to look.
Bulma had a look of utter horror on her face.
"What am I going to do? My family is gone! Where will I go?"
"You can stay with us, I guess. Hang on, let me ask Chi-Chi. One thing.
You have to
unfreeze time."
But Bulma had realized that Zelda had a thing for Gohan. She could tell by the
way
she looked at the eleven year-old half-Saiyan.
Zelda was thinking, <<Oh no!>> She was grateful for Goku's
kindness, but: <<If I stay
with them, Gohan will be my brother!!>> She sent Bulma an urgent look.
"Goku! I want her to stay with me! She'll never get anything to eat if she
stays with
you!!"
"Well, fine. I don't mind. As long as she has a family." Goku did
look kind of
disappointed, but he quickly hid it. After all, Zelda had it worse.
"Oh, really, Bulma? You're the greatest!!" She could only wear the
hugest smile.
"Well, thanks! Besides, I think my mom has taken a liking to you."
She said this with a
smile on her own face.
She was so happy. She had a family again!
"Well, let's be going!!"
"Alright Goku, Bulma. Just let me get some stuff...." She left with
them.
***********************************************************************
When they
arrived, (Zelda unfroze time) they were bombarded with questions:
"Zelda!?" "Again!?" and "What'd you do this
time?" (That was Krillin, of course)
"Okay, you guys. Here it is,-"
"Zelda's family was....destroyed....by Kali." Goku didn't want to
make Zelda say it. She
had had a tough day. Why make her do this, too?
"Geez, you think she'd get a break. She defeated him, and he destroyed her
family."
Krillin always did see the humor (Humor? I don't think so) in a situation.
"Yeah. She's going to-"
"I'm going to stay with Bulma." Vegeta looked astonished, but kept
his mouth shut.
After all, she had defeated Kali. He would not get over being inferior to a
girl anytime
soon, but he was impressed.
Gohan's smile went from ear to ear. He simply said, "I'm glad you are
staying," and
left. He hoped she wouldn't think he was rude for not saying sorry. He was
blushing so
much, he felt he had to get out of there before the redness changed the
lighting of the
room.
After everyone had registered their sorriness, Bulma escorted Zelda to the room
where she would be staying. It was bigger than her old room. (Well, the Briefs
are a
rich family.) "Zelda, are you sure you're going to be okay?"
"Oh, yeah. I mean, I have you guys now." Bulma knew she was thinking
of Gohan more
than anyone else. "I should be fine. It was kind of a shock to come home
and find my
family....." she choked.
"I know, Zelda. We'll all help you out. I'm sure the guys were impressed
at you. Come
on, you beat Kali when they couldn't."
"Say that to Vegeta, I dare you." They both laughed. "Thank you
so much for letting
me stay." She would say that many times over the course of her stay.
"Oh, it's okay. I know you want to stay for a special reason." She
winked at Zelda
and nudged her with her elbow. The newcomer to the group blushed.
"So, you figured out, huh? Oh, well, it's not like it's embarrassing or
anything."
"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone." Now it was Zelda's turn to trust
Bulma.
They went back out to the living room after Zelda had put all her things away.
(Which
took quite a while.) Gohan had come back out, pretending to have gone and get
Chibi
Trunks and Goten to tell them Zelda was there. Bulma raised her eyebrows at her
and she blushed again.
"Hey, Zelda!" Gohan had recovered from his fit of redness.
"Wazzup, guys." She was kind of dazed. Staring out into space, a
dead-fish look an
her face. She sat down on the couch. Zelda was thinking of how different it
would be
with the Z team instead of her old family.
She was snapped out of her thoughts by Goku's hand waving in front of her face.
"Zelda, you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." She looked around at the others. Krillin was
talking to Gohan about
his fight with Kali. Yamcha was talking to Goku about his own. <<Is that
what they talk
about when they are not fighting?>> she thought.
"Zelda, how did you do that?" Tien asked her, shaking her back into
reality once again.
"Huh? What?"
"How did you combine those attacks?" Yamcha answered.
"Oh. I don't really know. Maybe we had something in common, or our minds
were on
the same wavelength when he shot it. You know, now that's all I'll be able to
think
about. Thanks guys," she said sarcastically.
"Look out, Yamcha! I told you not to get her mad! Now she'll probably blow
up the
building." Zelda rolled her eyes, as well as everyone else, at Krillin's
remark.
*Ping!* <<Oh, crap!! Not again!!>> The others all looked around,
alarmed, at the Ki
signature. "You guys......"
"Yeah.
We know. Well, we better go see what the problem is." Gohan had a resigned
look on his face. They had just finished a battle!
"Wait, you guys! That feels like Kali's Ki. Am I wrong?"
"No, you're right! It is Kali!" Goku looked frightened.
<<What's happenned? I thought I defeated him! NO! Now we have to fight
him
again!>> "So, he came from my dimension back to this one?"
"Yeah, I guess he did." His expression became gradually more intense.
"Maybe......." Bulma paused. "Since he is not from that
dimension, his injuries did not
stay when he returned."
"What!?!" was the response from most of the group.
"We have to kill him all over again, I guess. We know what will beat him
this time."
Zelda's was the voice of reason. "He is not good against his own
technique."
"Well, let's go." They all flew away.
***********************************************************************
"Urrrggghhhh!! I thought I'd never have to look at him again!!" Zelda
groaned, not
knowing she was actually talking. That was enough to attract Kali's attention.
"Oh? It's you again? Come back to follow me into this dimension?"
"This is our dimension!" Zelda yelled at him, glad she could say that
about this
dimension.
"Yeah, okay. You won't beat me this time. I've gotten stronger." He
powered up once
more to SSJ5. They all felt the force of it.
Gohan advanced on him, and threw a punch. It went through him! Then, he fizzled
out
and they could no longer feel his Ki. They saw Dr. Briefs standing with some
contraption. "Hello, there! I've just tested my newest creation! I got the
idea from you
guys. A false Ki radiator! I just enter in a few coordinates, and it projects
the image of
the person with that Ki signature. What do you think?" He ended with a
smile.
"Man, you scared the Hell out of us. It's a cool invention, though."
Zelda had an
exasperated look on her face. They all looked very relieved. All of them
thought that
they would have to fight Kali and kill him all over again.
What none of them had noticed (Except Zelda) was that when they had found Kali,
Gohan had protectively leapt in front of Zelda. He was worried though he knew
she
could hold her own. Zelda had to admit that she would have done the same. (And
was
about to before he had.)
They all flew home, Zelda flying next to Gohan, wondering why he had done what
he
had done. <<Maybe.......he.....likes me? No, that can't be right. He's
destined to end up
with Videl.>> What she didn't know was that she had totally altered the
entire dimension
as soon as she had transported Goku there.
I don't
own DragonBallZ or anything relating to it, besides, well, Zelda, and this
story. The
lucky, brilliant man who does is Akira Toriyama. Bless the Japanese God I
worship, and his name
is Akira!!! All Hail Akira Toriyama!!! WHOOHOO!! *Jumps up and down, then
realizes everyone's
staring at her.* hoo, hoo, sorry.
When they all got back to the Briefs home (Which Zelda could now say was her
home
as well) she asked Gohan if she could talk to him. Bulma was sure she knew what
it was.
Zelda led them both up to her room and they both sat down on the bed. Oh, this
was
bad. Zelda said:
"Gohan?"
"Yes?" They were both blushing but neither noticed.
"Well.......I....did you jump in front of me earlier to protect me?"
"Er......" He was blushing furiously red. "Yeah?" he said
tentatively, as if his answer
were a question, afraid of what her reaction might be.
"Oh...Gohan....thank you.....so much!!" She wrapped her arms around
his neck before
she could stop herself. Gohan was startled but returned the hug. Zelda made
herself
more comfortable. She interlocked her hands around his waist now, letting him
press his
face against her own. They sat in the embrace for five minutes before they both
broke
away at the same time.
"Zelda...I....love.."
"Oh, I love you too, Gohan...." she said quietly, surprised she had
been able to say
those three words that every story she had ever read had told her it would be
hard.
She leaned into him, resting her cheek on his chest. He leaned back and they
were lying
down on the bed, Zelda on top on her side. When they realized their position,
they sat
back up, but neither was blushing this time.
"Gohan...." she murmured, never wanting the embrace to never end, and
they engaged
in a kiss.
The two had found love in each other.
And they couldn't be happier.
