Eating out!
Food is important in Singapore. People love to talk about it! (Probably because weather is not a really fruitful topic: ah today again 30 degrees and sunny...). A recent survey just revealed that 75% of the Singapuri discuss their dinner plans while having lunch!
Chicken rice, Chili crab, Wantan noodle, Roti Prata... The list of food you can get in Singapore is long. There are many restaurants, however, having breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of the many food courts is - let's say: local. And as we have been well integrated - we both love it! You choose your food from the little stands and they will bring it to your table. Prices are low (chicken rice approximately Euro 1.50). The stands are ranked according to their quality: A for really good and down to D (Singapuri say D for delicious!, however, these food stands are hard to find, I just heard about one but did not check it out).
After cleaning the table, dishes will be cleaned at the central dish washing point: no, no dish washers, good old handwork (see picture). Oh, and you will find no napkins. The solution: take your own (really common) or buy 3 packages for S$ 1 from the, mostly disabled, old man how sells them at the food court.
