Finding a new home...
Finding a new home was one of the top-priorities in the first two weeks. What is the best place to stay? Close to the city, close to the refinery, close to shops, close to public transportation, close to entertainment, quiet, light, nice surroundings, safe, good view, no construction sites, old, new, low-rise, high-rise, condominum or standalone house... All these things have to be considered...

Well, with help of our housing agent Angeline we started scanning the housing market in Singapore. We had no idea what we could get, so offered us a first range of appartments so we got an idea what we like and what we don't.

About 20 appartment visits further we finally found what we were looking for (well, Sonja found who did most of the visits). High-rise (25th floor), good view (we even can see the refinery), close to public transportation (MRT (=Metro), bus and taxis just at the back entrance of the appartment), close to the refinery (15 minutes by bus), not even two years old, shops and supermarkets in the vicinity and a nice pool.

Interested?
(Remark: this is a first impression - we will have to wait another two weeks before our ship arrives, the landlord was so kind to leave some of his things so we can really live here.)
The view from the living room - yes - you spotted it right - IKEA is also here!
View from the staircase on the opposite site of our appartment. The MRT station Queenstown.
Straight down - our pool! One of the biggest in Singapore with a little waterfall. However, we do not  recommend to dive in directly from the appartment...
Where do we start now...
Entrance, living and dining room and door to the kitchen with washing chamber and maids room.
(yes, it is a TV - don't worry, the landlord will remove it - even if he could not understand how you can live without one...)
Living room with panorama window for a nice view. The furniture will still be completely replaced...
