Silky on the Net

Silky on the Net

Update - Tuesday, October 7, 2003

I rescued Silky from the animal shelter at Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was pretty shy for the first few months, apparently a victim of abuse in her past. After receiving lots of TLC, she seemed to have come out of it and was doing fairly well. However, she was receiving medication for a congestive heart problem. We had her for approximately 2 1/2 years. Our blue merle sheltie, Tuffy, is in the lower right hand picture with her. They both got along just fine together and were quite an adorable pair!

Our hearts were saddened, today, to say the least, as Silky's passing. She seemed to have been doing fairly well but we could see her health slowly deteriorating. We had to increase medication for her health problems. The last week of her life resulted in rapid deterioration and a rapidly growing tumor that was beyond anything that the vet could do. She could barely stand on her own and was obviously at the end. We will miss her very much. She was such a sweet-natured, loving sheltie and was a blessing to all of us.
