On time I think!? Yeah, so the band (minus Bethan...another traveller...LOL) played the
Ogilvy Arms on Saturday and went down extremely well Im glad to say. S65 were on top form and put on an amusing show, even though some dodgy dancing did occur during the performance! The gig at the Westport bar last Wednesday  saw the band play most of their original material, which seemed to go down pretty well. Sonnet also have another gig with Secrets We've Told and Jesus Enterprise along with Dundee band Lexxi on the 14th of this month...come along to the Doghouse that Wednesday! Till then theres the charity dance on Friday they are playing at (will be mostly, if not all, covers). Tickets are available from Hooks Hotel Kirriemuir, the gig is a fund raiser for Breast Cancer Care and the Scottish Huntingtons association, with 2 other local bands helping out also!
Welcome to the new improved(?) Sonnet 65 website...
Armed with guitars, bass, drums, violin and keyboard the five
young  prodigys from Kirrie combine to craft a triple-pronged assault of melodies and harmonies algamated with colourful but refined musical aptitude. The band have developed, progressing from their initial indie roots to a more mature multi-genre fusion of lyrics and sound, including covers of everything from 60's classics to nu-metal noise as well as their own original material. The boys (and gurl!) are back bringing with them a hint of fashion and rejuvination to the old and a new dimension of substance and sophistication to the new....enjoy...
