Welcome to Andy's Film Journal. I've been attending the Toronto Internation Film Festival since 1994 taking a week off work to spend sitting in a darkened theatre for 10 days watching 30+ films from around the world with complete strangers. In the year 2000 I celebrated my seventh year in attendance and decided to attempt to create some sort of on-line journal for friends, family and casual strangers to browse. Whether you are viewing this because you know me or are reading this just because a search engine directed you here, I hope you will find something of interest in the pages that will follow. What I hope to communicate in this journal is not just my thoughts on the films but the film going experience itself. For the uninitiated the film festival can be overwhelming barage of sights, sounds and barely edible food. Hell, even us regular attendees can experience the burn-out associated with attempting to watch 3 or more films a day for 10 days straight and still try to get enough sleep and nourishment. My journal is somewhat sporadic as you will see from my entries. Each year I begin the festival season with every good intention of writing comments on the films I see, but then the festival kicks in and there's no time for such luxuries. I tried to find a rating system for the Festival that suited my film choices and arrived at the following
