APA Style Links

8/2004

As you know, college courses in the field of education require the use of the APA style guide for writing papers, projects, essays, and so forth.  As an attempt to help you with this (and/or confuse you thoroughly) I have compiled website links (scroll down) that have the resources you need.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please Note in regards to INTERVIEWS:

Citing Interviews - clarification -  these do not go into the reference list.  Here's the APA information, and it includes if you cite email you receive or other personal communications:

Examples of in-text citation from OWLS & the APA Style Manual (please use this in your work for me):

According to L. A. Chafez (personal communication, March 28, 1997)......

(S. D. Weisflock, personal communication, June 26, 2004)

Personal communications, such as e-mail messages to you, letters, memos, telephone conversations, or private interviews that you conducted with another person (and so forth), should not be cited in your reference list because they are not retrievable sources for anyone else. You should make reference to these sources in your in-text citations. (For more information, see page 214 of the APA Publication Manual if you have one.) Give the initials as well as the surname of the communicator, and provide as an exact a date as possible.

This list is meant to help you get things right! Please do not become all worried because these are from different Universities.  APA is APA is APA.  Just use it! Just do it!
