Dream Mizu and Crystal Evermore
Evermore floated over the endless stretch of trees always keeping Latharna in view. They were going to Sayaka's house. Evermore always joined Latharna on trips to Sayaka's. Ever since he was a hatchling Latharna had taken him with her on her trek to her friend's house. Sayaka's home was on the very edge of the Fen village and no one but her friends knew how to get to there. Evermore noticed the trees start to form a thick patch he began to decend lazily. He hooverd for a moment then gently landed on Latharna's shoulder. Evermore stayed quiet as Latharna concentrated on where she is stepping. A few moments later Latharna stood in front of a door almost hidden by the trees.
Latharna knocked on the the door and waited. "Well wouldn't it be just great if she isn't here!" Latharna knocked again then sighed. "Well I guess this is what we diserve for coming unannounced!" Suddenly the door burst open and a wave of hot air poured into their faces. Evermore braced himself as Latharna stepped into the house.
Everyone and everything in the house was in an uproar. Sayaka was holding the door open yelling for more water, her minidragons were circling around the room with buckets of water, and her dog was barking at it all. A merdragon carrying another bucket of water pushed Latharna aside, knocking Evermore off her shoulder. Evermore spread his wings before he landed on the ground and went over to see what was causing the whole mess. A large fire, engulfing Sayaka's hearth, blazed filling the whole corner of the house with an unbearable heat. Evermore used his power over water to cause a large cascade of water to put out the fire.
Mizu flew into the scene with a bucket just as Evermore's burst of water splashed over everyone in the room. Mizu set her bucket down and flew over to rest on Sayaka's shoulder. She pulled her owner's hair over her and spyed on Evermore from under her protective screen. Everytime he came she felt the same. Her heart missed a few beats then sped up to beat so fast she thought everyone would hear it pounding. She felt so happy and so depressed at the same time. She had never been able to get up enough courage to talk to him. Just watching him made her want to say anything or do anything to have his love.
Evermore turn to see everyone staring at him with water dripping off them. *Sorry...* he began to apologize then saw a pair of blue eyes watching him through Sayaka's hair. Every thought left him as he hoovered there staring back at Mizu. She was the reason he always came with Latharna to Sayaka's home. He had only seen a few glances of her in all the times he'd come. But it was enough to leave him helplessly in love with her.
Sayaka watched the two dragons study eachother. "Lath, do you think they realize that they are madly in love with eachother?" Latharna look back and forth from Evermore to Mizu. "I don't think they have a clue!" Latharna smiled at Sayaka, "Me neither! I wonder how they're going to figure it out..."
*Hello Mizu,* Evermore spoke only to her. His voice melted her completely. She shivered helplessly as he gazed at her with his rainbow eyes. She slowly stuck her head out of her hiding place. *Evermore,* she sighed his name. Then she noticed everyone watching!! She couldn't breathe she was so embarrassed. There was only one thing for her to do...escape. She jumped into the air and flew out the still open door.
She left so quickly Evermore wondered what had gone wrong. *Sayaka said she got embarrassed. I'd suggest going an getting her, hansome!* Latharna grinned at him and motioned for him to follow Mizu. He took Latharna's advice and zoomed out of the house.
Mizu flew farther from the house. The more she thought of it the worst it seemed. She'd made a fool of herself and now Evermore probably thought she was stupid. As she dodged easily through the branches she lost all hope of every having a mate. Depression stabbed like a knife through her heart. She tucked herself into a ball not caring that she now falling to the ground.
Evermore saw Mizu begin to fall. His heart almost stopped as he realized she wasn't going to stop herself. *Mizu!!* He howled as he dove to her. Her wings opened at his call. Evermore swooped down below her and flew on his back. She looked down at him her eyes full of pain and hope.
Mizu looked into Evermore's eyes. He'd come after her, was it possible... Evermore flew on his back, moving along with her, his wings stroking the air slowly. He moved his head closer to hers, weaving his neck slowly. Age-old instincts awakened in Mizu at the prelude to the flight...and she responded.
The two minidragons whirled together through the air, chasing each other, studying each other's movements and capabilities for flaws, in a refined system as old as thousands of generations. However, Mizu was glad when finally, Evermore caught her in the air, hanging onto to her as the two of them flew away together in ecstasy.
I have a mate, Mizu thought dreamily. When the flight was completed, the two of them rested together on an old stump in the Fen. She leaned against Evermore, nuzzling his smooth neck with her muzzle, and closed her eyes. She knew she could not be happier then at this moment.
