How To Capture MewTwo

How can I capture Mewtwo? Mewtwo can only be obtained after you have defeated the Elite Four of the Pokémon League. Travel to Cerulean City, and at the edge of town you will discover the man guarding the cave entrance has left. Explore the cavern thoroughly and you will find Mewtwo at the very center. But watch out! There's only one Mewtwo, so if you make him faint, you lose your chance. Save the game before you battle. The best way to capture him is to put him to sleep with either Sleep Powder, or a singing Pokémon, such as Clefable or Jigglypuff. If you haven't got one, I suggest capturing one of the high-level Wigglytuff that live in the cave. A Great Ball will do a better job of capturing Mewtwo than any other type, except the Master Ball.

My friend says if you battle long enough, Mew appears. Is she lying? Yes, sadly. Your friend is a dirty liar. Mew won't make any appearances in your American Gameboy game. However, if you're playing the Japanese version, you can receive it as a gift after capturing 150 pokémon types, and calling on the lovely GameFreak folks in Celadon.

Is Mewtwo really the most powerful game character? Pretty much. When you capture him, he's already at level 70, with attacks like Recover and Psychic. He's excellent for any battle you're in, but many people dont like to use him because they consider it "cheating". Don't worry, though. If you've come this far, your main Pocket Monster should be at a high level, and should be able to defeat Mewtwo easily --just remember to save the game first, in case you knock him out!
