This site is a new undertaking for me. I have actually wanted to complete my personal webpages for quite some time, but never got around to doing it. Now, I finally have the opportunity to, and I am so happy! I have made personal web sites in the past for others, but working on my own always got pushed into the background for one reason or another. Since so many of my friends and colleagues have asked me when I was going to get around to doing my own, I have decided to finally get it over with. *grin*

On my path to becoming a web designer, I began by taking a course in how to hand-code HTML with Notepad, from Budding HTML Gurus, & also the PSP 101 & 102 courses at WebTech U. I moved on to taking courses @ Kaplan University to obtain my Associates Degree in IT with a focus in Graphic Design and Web Design. Having completed that, I have moved forward and am in my first term at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh to obtain my BS in IT, with a focus in Web Development. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA thus far through school, which has me very excited!

I began undertaking a degree in IT after becoming burnt out and dissatisfied in my occupation as a paralegal after obtaining my Criminal Justice degree. Being a paralegal was a "right fit" for me for a while, but then began to cause me an amount of stress I couldn't ignore. If you know me, you can probably correctly assume why. Deciding to venture onto a new career path is one of the best decisions I could have made. I find my new career rewarding, satisfying, and fun! Now I am a firm believer in doing what makes you happy in life!

Obtaining my degree online was fantastic! It allowed me the flexibility I needed and craved (I hate sitting in classrooms). The Art University of Pittsburgh is a great school and I feel grateful at my chance to finish my education there. You can find a link to the schools and universities I have attended on my "Links" page, if you're interested.

The following pages will contain not only personal pages about myself & my family, but also information and support for causes that are close to my heart. With all the friends & family I have overseas serving in OIF, I have dedicated a page to them, & all the others serving in our military. Some of these people are safely back home now, thankfully, & others are still overseas.
Other pages to come in the near future will include the issues & causes of cancer, child abuse, domestic violence, homeschooling, Lupus, and child abuse prevention, as these are all very near to my heart.

On the next page is a Site Map for my new webpages here, & I hope you are able to find your way around quite easily. I plan to add to these pages as I am able, until the whole of my site is my very own creation! Feel free to check back often for updates.

Note: Many of my pages contain background music I have chosen to accompany the page... please adjust your speakers accordingly. Since I am aware that personal taste varies, I have enabled a way for the music to be shut off at the bottom of each page where it is found, and hope this makes your experience more comfortable.
