When I was about ten or eleven years old I was listening to the Cult. I am not even quite sure which song it was, but there was a solo section accompanied by the rhythm section (gee really, was there?), in which, for a moment or two, I could hear the bass guitar (my stereo was not the closest of friends with low frequency sounds). The sheer depth of the beast struck me and drew me in at that very moment. I waited four or five years until my life was graced with the acquisition of a bass guitar. Ten years down the track I received a home recording studio for my computer. It could be months before I become any good at using the program. :P I hope to upload a few songs that I write. They will probably not be my best ones as I am not really sure whether to whack them on the net yet. This little ditty was the first thing I recorded after the installation. I had to get something down right away. I couldn't help myself. I also had to shrink it quite alot so there is quite a bit of loss. I have another little song right now (9.1.3), but I have to post a couple of warnings: -there is one word said a few times that may arouse disapproval in some individuals -that word does NOT begin with f, s, or c. Another matter of importance is the format of this song. It has been compressed with Ogg Vorbis. Ogg Vorbis is a non-commercial audio compression utility. It rates similarly in post process size to formats such as MP3, but kicks butt in the retension of sound quality. Ogg Vorbis is available from the Ogg Vorbis Website. Please feel free to subject as many pairs of ears to this musical monstrocity as you see fit (if I didn't want people to hear it, I wouldn't put it on the www). It is also zipped as Geocities have specified file extensions and any others cannot be uploaded. :/ I have a few ever so slightly silly sites. Actually I suppose the correct number at this stage would be three, leaving one other out there. It is around somewhere, but may not be seen at a glance. |
