1. John1 Chandler was born in England 1585. John died circa 1656 in Elizabeth City, Va.
He married twice. He married (Name Unknown)..... in Va, before 1632. (Name was born in
England after 1599/0. (Name died before 1636 in Va. Her body was interred in Va. He
married Elizabeth..... in Va., after 1631/2. Elizabeth was born in England circa 1615. Elizabeth died in
Va. Her body was interred in Va.
John Chandler arrived in Jamestown, Va. in 1609 aboard the "Hercules" as an indentured servant to Thomas Willoby. By 1623 he was
evidently a free man and living south of Jamestown,Va. and by 1632 resided in Elizabeth City,Va. On 6 July 1636 he received a land patent of
1000 ac for the transport of his now wife "Elizabeth" and 19 others. In 1648-49 he served as Justice for the Elizabeth City Court. The
name of his first wife is not known.
