He married Tommy Sue Chandler in Ozona, Tx, March 31, 1961. Tommy was born in San Angelo, TX July 17, 1942. She is the daughter of Earle Harrison Chandler and Tommy Elizabeth Smith.

William Murphey Black and Tommy Sue Chandler had the following children:
