Silently walking I trudged up the hill,
recalling the many things I saw yesterday.
Birds, plants, wind, and rock
all seem to be welcoming me back.
The higher I climbed the more at peace I felt,
as I seemed to shed my worries with each step.
I noticed that it appeared as if I were following fewer,
as my steps became the only ones marked in the sand.
Reaching the top and seeing the cross above all,
I knew that this must have been how great God felt when he saw what he had created.
Looking out I thought about where I had been and where I still have to go,
and I decided right then and there, I don't want to go through life just Silently Walking!
Strong and Solid,
there when needed;
Always the right word,
and a friend to 'till the end.
Listens and cares,
not out for himself;
True to his word,
and takes mine to heart.
Selfless and Deep,
our friendship's not cheap;
Not in it for gain,
and knows its no game.
Courageous and True,
there for me and for you;
A very giving friend,
and a shoulder to cry on.
