The first time I heard about APFPY, I came to have a look and I could never read more than 10 or 11 posts. Do you imagine? As it was the beginning of this NG, I could read some posts announcing 150 new posts! Then I tried to post myselft, just to ask for help. Oh well I got a response! Yes! It was Eugene Calame. At first I believed he was french! :-) The name you know? It sounds french (Well, er.... when I pronounce it!). So thank you Eugene, thank you for welcoming , and helping me.
I had then a fight against my provider. I asked him to maintain more posts in APFPY than the usual 11 or 12. While I was waiting, a charming lady was forwarding to me the more interesting stuff she could find on APFPY. My! Thank you Marian D from Texas. I can't remember when and why you stopped posting on the NG, but sure I won't forget you. Thanks and hugs. I won the battle with my ISP! I was then able to read at least er.....well,...... 25 posts! I had another fight with my ISP and then, at last, HE won. I changed ISP and here I am, having more posts to read, even if the original posts are often missing.
Is it because I spent a lot of energy to be a part of the NG, or because so many nice people gave their time to help me? I'm still here, posting or replying or just listening. And here I want to thank averybody. Though my english is what a frenchy can make with a foreign language, nobody laughed too loud, or mocked me. Some of you even tried to understand what I wanted to express, and politely asked me to send more info:-( Now, can you imagine that I even improve my english a lot? Thanx to y'all gals 'n guys, I dunno if I'd learn to speak english soooo quickly w/o U. Methinks no!
There is one thing you couldn't help me with. It's my accent! My friend told me he could feel my accent from the distance (We were chatting on ICQ!). I'm thinking now to change my french AZERTY keyboard for a QWERTY!
Et le meilleur pour la fin. When I look back to these few months, I realize that I met a majority of my new net friends on APFPY. Some even speak french (Merci pour le repit que vous me procurez!). Some are in my thoughts, closest friends than they can imagine. Some I will see very soon (October November is the date) Thank you for beeing a part of my life, of my worries. Thank you, just for beeing you.
Happy birthday APFPY and again, Eugene, thank you for founding the NG. Michel ------------------------------------------------------------------
