CrossBuddy's Web Page Cross

Hello my name is Chris, and I live in the great state of Oklahoma. My hobbies are hunting, fishing, playing computer games, working on computers (hardware), and the internet. Please come back and visit often, and please sign my guestbook. If you have any questions or comments please email me or contact me on ICQ, my # is 15289142.

I am a Southern Baptist and I believe that Jesus came to us through a virgin birth, and that he died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sins. I believe that Jesus is God's only son. I believe every word of the Bible, from cover to cover. I believe abortion is wrong. I believe it is a sin to have sex outside of marriage. I believe homosexuality is a sin; it is directly mentioned in the Bible as being a sin. I believe that Jesus is coming back soon to redeem His own...and I believe that He is preparing a place for us now. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that I will one day rejoice by His pierced side and worship at His nail-scared feet. Remember, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. No one is beyond help with God, no matter what you have done or what your problem is, He can help you. Jesus loves each and every one of us. He may not always like what we do, but He always loves us. He hates the sin, but loves the sinner. If you are not saved or just have questions please email me and I will try to help you. If you feel that it is the time to be saved please pray the following prayer:

Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I repent of my sin. Please forgive me. Come into my heart and save me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Confess your salvation publicly before men. Grow in Christ by following through with baptistm (the first step Jesus took when beginning His ministry) and uniting with a church. You will find new Christian friends and grow in your new life in Christ.

God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth. The dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.

"HOW TO KNOW IF YOU ARE SAVED" according to the book of John 5:24-30 NIV.

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my words and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. And he has given himself authority to judge because he is the Son of Man."

"Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out - those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me."

PRINCIPLES TO LIVE BY:

1) Get to know God personally.

2) Learn God's commands and discover what he wants you to do.

3) Worship God with wholehearted devotion.

4) Serve God with a willing mind.

5) Be faithful.

6) Don't become discouraged.

When William Wyler made the movie Ben Hur starring Charlton Heston, he equired Heston to learn to drive a chariot and participate in a chariot race in the movie. Heston was having troubles controlling the vehicle and spoke to Wyler saying, "I think I can drive the chariot but I'm not sure I can win the race." Wyler responded saying, "You must stay in the race and I'll make sure you win."

This is in essence the answer that Jesus is saying to us as we stay in the race of life through faith in Him who died for us. As long as we remain in Christ through faith, He will make sre that we win the race.

FOUR THINGS GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW:

2) You cannot save yourself.Praying Hands

3) Jesus has provided for your salvation.

4) You can be saved today.

YOUR PART:

1) Believe.

2) Repent.

3) Confess your sin to Jesus.

4) Confess Jesus before others.

5) Trust Him to keep you.

1 John 5:1-5

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

"THE CROSS IN MY POCKET"

I carry a cross in my pocket, a simple reminder to me of the fact that I am a Christian no matter where I may be. This little cross is not magic, nor is it a good luck charm. It isn't meant to protect me from every physical harm. It's not for identification for all the world to see. It's simply an understanding between my Savior and me. When I put my hand in my pocket to bring out a coin or key, the cross is there to remind me of the price He paid for me. It reminds me, too, to be thankful or my blessings day by day, and to stive to serve Him better in all that I do and say. It's also a daily reminder of the peace and comfort I share with all who know my Master and give themselves to His care. So I carry a cross in my pocket reminding no one but me that Jesus Christ is Lord of my life if only I'll let Him be.

PRINCIPLES TO LIVE BY

1. Get to know God personally.

2. Learn God's commands and discover what He wants you to do.

4. Serve God with a willing mind.

HOW JESUS' TRIAL WAS ILLEGAL

1. Even before the trial began, it had been determined that Jesus must die (John 11:50; Mark 14:1). There was no "innocent until proven guilty" approach.

2. False witnesses were sought to testify against Jesus (Matthew 26:59). Usually the religious leaders went through an elaborate system of screening witnesses to ensure justice.

3. No defense for Jesus was sought or allowed (Luke 22:67-71).

4. The trial was conducted at night (Mark 14:53-65; 15:1), which was illegal according to the religious leaders' own laws.

5. The high priest put Jesus under oath, but then incriminated him for what he said (Matthew 26:63-66).

6. Cases involving such serious charges were to be tried only in the Sanhedrin's regular meeting place, not in the high priest's palace (Mark 14:53-65).

FAITH

Faith is a word with many meanings. It can mean faithfulness (Matthew 24:45). It can mean absolute trust, as shown by some of the people who came to Jesus for healing (Luke 7:2-10). It can mean confident hope (Hebrews 11:1). Or, as James points out, it can even mean a barren belief that does not result in good deeds (James 2:14-26). What does Paul mean when, in Romans, he speaks of saving faith?

We must be very careful to understand faith as Paul uses the word, because he ties faith so closely to salvation. It is not something we must do in order to earn salvation-if that were true, then faith would be just one more deed, and Paul clearly states that human deeds can never save us (Galations 2:16). Instead, faith is a gift God gives us because He is saving us (Ephesians 2:8). It is God's grace, not our faith, that saves us. In His mercy, however, when He saves us He gives us faith-a relationship with His Son that helps us become like Him. Through the faith He gives us, He carries us from death into life (John 5:24).

Even in Old Testament times, grace, not deeds, was the basis of salvation. As Hebrews points out, "it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins" (Hebrews 10:4). God intended for His people to look beyond the animal sacrifces to Him, but all too often they, instead, put their confidence in fulfilling the requirements of the law-that is, performing the required sacrifices. When Jesus triumphed over death, He cancelled the charges against us and opened the way to the Father (Colossians 2:12-15). Because He is merciful, He offers us faith. How tragic if we turn faith into a deed and try to develop it on our own! We can never come to God through our own faith, any more than His Old Testament people could come through their own sacrifces. Instead, we must accept His gracious offer with thanksgiving and allow Him to plant the seed of faith within us.
