Real Motorcyclist don't use windshields.  Fred, we finally agree.
I turned in my Real Motorcyclist license when I got smart. A 60+mph wind on your chest and head does use up precious energy. More precious the older you get.
If I want wind in my face I just turn on the AC fan I stole off a Gold Wing.
Here La.83 goes up the hill to Weeks Island. I'm sure you know about our "islands" that aren't real islands but are uplifts under salt domes. Oil and gas are common around these geologic stuctures. Yes, Pine trees in the marsh. Cedars, too.
Familiar name?
The big water beyond the mine works is Vermillion Bay. The Vermillion River, originating above Lafayette, flows into it. I followed the river once in a boat and once on a bike. The bike story is on the site. The boat story I can't tell.
The view of the bay is something else. The haze was just a little thick.
Back to the marsh. Soon we'll turn off La.83.
