Glenhead 4 O’Garas 2 The Glenhead qualified for the Knockout final for the first time after defeating O’Garas 4-2 in O’Donnells, Pat Curran won the deciding match beating Glen McBrearty 3-1 best performance of the night was from O’Garas Tommy Feeney who had a 133 checkout in his win over Kevin Squires. Glenhead v Fawltys, in John Joe’s on Saturday 8th April The 2006 Knock out cup final takes place in John Joe’s, Kilcar on Saturday the 8th April between Glenhead Tavern, Cashel and Fawltys, Killybegs. This is Glenhead’s first ever Knockout final and they are the first team from Cashel to reach the final since Roartys in 1997. Fawltys are also in their first final but the most of the players themselves have been there before with the Sail Inn 3 years ago and the Pier Bar before that. In the preliminary round Fawltys won the local derby v The Hollybush 4-2 while Glenhead had a bye. Round one saw Fawltys shock the Bridge Bar 4-0 and Glenhead defeated John Joe’s 4-1, the semis say the clash of Fawltys and holders Ringfort in O’Garas with Fawltys winning 4-3 in the final deciding leg and Glenhead beat O’Garas 4-2 to reach their first final. This promises to be an exciting final with a large crowd expected, best of luck to both teams and may the best team win. |
