Currently the churches in southeastern Ohio are in a major crisis! After all the flooding they have had early this year, they are completely out of cleaning supplies in their warehouses.
I know this because I have talked to Pastor Roy Nelson of the Wintersville SDA Church. He is the pastor that has the responsibility of storing the cleaning supplies for disaster relief in that area.
After this last the last flood the local sheriff went to him for supplies and took the last that he had. He doesn’t know what he will do when the next flood comes, as they do come frequently in southeastern Ohio.
This is where you, their brothers and sisters in Christ come in to help. The SW Ohio Y.E.S. Corps is starting a cleaning supplies drive to help Pastor Nelson and his church! Here is a list of needed supplies:
· A large container of Clorox Cleanup* disinfectant cleaner
· A scrub brush
· A wire, metal cleaning brush**
· A pair of rubber gloves
· A large heavy duty sponge
· Some plastic trash bags
· A common household bucket
· Push Broom
* Please include this specific brand of cleaner.
** Metal cleaning brush needed; grill cleaning brushes are not effective. Appropriate brushes can be found in home improvement stores with painting supplies.
If everyone can just supply one or two of the needed items, we should get his warehouse full and he will be prepared. If you are not sure of what to buy, or don’t have the time to get to a store, you can write the Y.E.S. Corps a check for the money that you are willing to spend on this. Make your checks payable to: Youth Emergency Services Corps, and put “cleaning supplies” in the memo.
