Prairie  Sanctuary
O! How i weep for you my prairie grasses
As I Look over your parched fields
I feel your desires for more  of heavanly waters
to come down.
All my life I placed my soul  amid you
I too grow with you
bloom with you
and die with you.

O! How much of myself I see in you
I am the only one  here in this town
who walks amid your golden grasses
'For when a poet enters a land
he becomes the author of its soil.

O! how i compose about you
my precious stemmed grasses.
You and i are one
complete in earthlife union.
Just like you i sow
my seeded desires unto the prevailing winds.
Letting them freely go
where they may
Knowing not their fate?

I find freedom here
I find myself
amid your windblown seeds.
As I walk amid you
I feel I am in a spiritual dream
I hear a heartsong calling out to me here
it echoes from my hearts violin
as the winds carry it a way.

I find sanctuary here
in the solitude of your presence in me
