Wow... So much to say.. will I have enough room? lol....
Well, the day started off on an interesting note. I woke up at 2 in the morning from a dream about a buttered troll. Yes, I said a buttered TROLL. Strange I know. Finally I returned to sleep only to wake again from another strange dream... Finally it was time to get up & get ready.
RIchard had said he wanted to go back, & Amy said to ask her in the morn - so I did.. She decided to go too... We met up w/ Richard (who'd woken up at 3 for some reason or another) & took off... THe first thing we noticed wasthat it was eerily quiet. Then we noticed that Pub Alberto (the nite club next tothe Church) was not open nor were there drunks outside of it or taxi cabs.... Something was up.
So we get to Christ the King Cathedral... & there were the decorations. The mysterious holiday of two years ago that we couldnt fig out what was.... Yea! I was excited. I finally found out what it was... Corpus Christi. So yeah, we walked in found our seats & it was awesome. I don't really guess I can say much more about the Mass itself becuase, yet again, it was entirely in Kiswahili. I did catch parts this time though... One funny note: Richard seems to attract birds there, none on a suicide mission this time, but one circled his head for awhile. Had him quite unnerved lol.
Afterwards we walked back to the hostel (where I looked at my calendar & realized what was going on lol) ate breakfast & took off for the coC... I'll leave ths section short becuase I really don't want to go off on a tangent. Lets just leave it at saying that there were a couple things there today that REALLY bothered me... Thinking about it, one of them was really ironic timing too... pero like I said, you really don'twant me to go off on it...
Afterwards was the really cool part... We're walking tothe Boldens for Sunday lunch.. When we come upon the parade!!! I remember in 2001 someone saying there was one, pero we never saw it... Well we did this time & it was AWESOME. First we just saw people walking & police directing them around a corner... then song... We'd hear one, then as we'd walk on further down past them we'd hear another group singing a diff song.. it went on like that for awhile. It was great. Then.. the best part of all... we noticed a gold box coming behind a wave of people. Then we saw priests (several) & someone walking backwards w/ incense... & the priest behind him carrying the Host. Behind the box (which said priest was under) were the nuns. Oh yeah, camera's came out. It was so amazing.. I can't even describe it.
After we left the parade behind (sniff sniff) we went on the the Church & took pics there.
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful (although I'm sure anything would seem so after that lol). Heath is sick..so he gets to go to the dr. tomarrow.
