O Wistful Lover

For Janelle

O Wistful Lover,
    How you pine,
Long Hours now wasted,
     On Love divine.

And What remains?
     Tatter'd shreds,
Of your heart, mended
     By no human threads.

Only by the Will,
     Of our Father above,
Shall your heart again,
     Know how to love.
