(Directions from Boston.) Go south on Route 3, then go east on Route 6 (towards Cape Cod). Take the West Barnstable exit, and continue going east on 6A. To say that the road is curvy with many blind driveways is an understatement. The entrance to the cemetery is across the street from Harris Meadow Lane. If you get to Captain Loring Lane (on the right), you've gone too far. It is located "between" West Barnstable and Barnstable (although to us Westerners it seemed at times like Massachusetts was just all one big town...) - it is not actually in the town of Barnstable. Slow way down and make a very careful turn into the cemetery, as the entrance is very narrow with a big stone on each side. Below are some visual markers to help you find it a little easier. Henry Cobb's memorial is on the far right of the cemetery, near the road. |
