More Hancock Graves
Old Burying Ground - Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Old Burying Ground is a large cemetery, so this is by no means a complete listing of all graves.  This is only graves of those persons, directly or distantly, related to the Cornelius Dunham (Deacon Jonathan Dunham) family.
Left (headstone): Here Lies Buried the Body of Cap't John Hancock; Right (footstone): Cap't John Hancock, 1776
My personal award for "Creepiest Headstone Carving" goes to this headstone, at right, for John Hancock; I think you'll agree, especially  after you read the ominous epitaph (detail far right):

In memory of Mr. John Hancock, son of Mr. Torrey and Mrs. Sarah Hancock who died Sept. 20th 1796 in the 22d year of his age

My youthful mates both small and great,
Come here and you may see,
An awful fright which is the type,
Of which you soon will be.
From Left: 1) Headstone reads, In Memory of / Mr. Torry Hancock / Who died / July 17, 1778 in the 33 year / of his age / As now I am gone, I can't return / For you once more to see, / But it is true that all of you / Will soon come after me; 2) Detail of Urn from Headstone; 3) Footstone of Torry Hancock.  I don't know whether the spelling of Torry is with a -y or an -ey, it appears both ways.
