Ralph Winifield (R.W.) Dunham Farm - 2006/2007
Home of the Dunlap Nativity Scene
Clockwise from top left: 1) View of the farm from Highway 37; 2) the brick chicken house; chickens have not been kept in here for decades, it has been used for storage; 3) Donald Dunham's work shed; 4) the garage, at the bottom of the hill; a new garage was built next to the house.
Clockwise from top left: 1) and 2) views of the corn barn, where they used to store corn; I was told in no uncertain terms to stay away from this building when I was a child; 3) view of the valley from the farm; 4) modern corn bins.
Clockwise from top left: 1) the cow barn; 2) big hay barn; you can see below where Don Dunham carved his name inside the barn; 3) silo next to the big barn; 4) the "pond" our family built for irrigation, about a mile back into the hills; after she saw the movie, my mom was sure the Creature from the Black Lagoon lived on the far side.
Left: a farmer's graffiti; Right: the damage to the big hay barn, caused by cattle and neglect.  The farm buildings are sorely neglected; hay that was in the barn when it was sold about 25 years ago is still up in the second floor.
