Jonathan and I met in 1995, when the local theater group performed the musical "Carousel."  We started dating on July 8, 1995 and became engaged on February 6, 1999 (the day of the closing ceremony of the Olympics!). We had a long engagement because I was 19 when we became engaged and we were both still in school. We graduated on December 15, 2001 and were married June 1, 2002.
HOW WE MET
HOW HE PROPOSED
I ruined the proposal. He had told me that he was going to be late getting back from school because he had to audio record a concert. He got to my house and was dressed nice. I was sitting in the recliner with jeans and a sweatshirt on. He told me to get dressed and we were going to my favorite restaurant. I told him that I didn't want to, that I was tired. He told me to get up anyway because he was hungry. So, we drove to Dairy Queen.  When we got to the parking lot, he told me that he wasn't hungry and to turn around. I looked at him and he had a scarf. He blindfolded me and drove around. All of the sudden, we stopped. He came around and got me out of the car. We walked a little ways and he left me there. I could see bright lights through my scarf. He read a poem that he had written and then told me to take off my blindfold. I did, and he was kneeling before me on the ground, holding my ring. I looked around and noticed we were in the street infront of a theater. It was the same theater where he asked me to be his girlfriend. I of course said yes and the rest is history!
