Darci and Jonathan's Struggle to                Become Parents--

It's almost over!!
As most of our friends and family know, Jon and I have been trying to have a baby for almost three years.  In November of 2003, we sought the help of an OB/GYN.  He was not very beneficial, but with his help we were able to diagnose our problems.

After changing to a new (female!) OB/GYN, she helped us discover even more things out.  She referred us to a fertility specialist in Orland Park.  There, we did an In Vitro Fertilization and a Frozen Embryo Transfer, without success.  Not happy with this clinic, we then switched to another one in Hinsdale.

The new clinic in Hinsdale was/is FANTASTIC!! We feel better cared for, and cared about like we are people, not another money-maker!  They have been very thorough in our care and even though our attempt at In Vitro Fertilization there was not successful, we will be going back there again.

Trying to get pregnant, the doctor's appointments, the driving to almost Chicago (and sometimes in Chicago), the shots, the hormones, and the EXTREME disappointment when the results were negative was too hard on the both of us.  So, we decided to wait until this summer when school is out and things settle down a littl bit.  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers and we continue to struggle through this journey together.  I can tell you, there is not a better person that I would rather be going through this difficult time with, as Jon is COMPLETELY supportive, understanding, loving, and caring.
As you have read in the above text, Jon and I have been trying very hard for several years to try and have our family.  To make a long story short, it is about to come true!!  We were approached several months ago by a family member to adopt their unborn child.  You can tell on this page that we know what it is (BOY!!).  He is to be born at any time.  We thought it was going to be this past Thursday (December 7th, 2006), but it didn't happen.  We will definitely keep you all posted as events arise.  This is not definite yet, as no papers are signed.  But, it is looking VERY good for us!! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  I will post more about how this came to be at a later date.

Love,
   Darci and Jonathan

P.S.  His name will be Brogan Charles Paisley.  Brogan is an Irish name that means "strong" and Charles is Jon's dad's name.
