Hello, you've found a very helpful place to get you up and running with Half Life Counter-Strike. If your'e saying, "WTF is counter-strike?" GET THE HELL OUT.
Counter-Strike is the best online PC game on earth. It's now for X-Box, but I'm sticking with PC.
To get started (this is what I did) Get counter strike on CD-rom from best buy or something because you really need the key code. Then go online to download counter-strike 1.6. (It's actually STEAM which is powered by VALVE the same company that made C-S)Don't download it on the official web site, you have to wait in line AND pay. If you have 56.k dial-up, it'll probably take a couple hours. Anything better it'll take less than 1 hour.
See the links to the right. The first link is to counter strike 1.6, on the page it will say click here to download Counter Strike 1.6. Make sure you download the latest version 1.6 INSTEAD of 1.5 (unless you want 1.5 of course.)
Requirements for all this:
windows/98/95/NT or later
(sorry mac users :p)
Good video card, like 64MB or larger
INTERNET CONNECTION, preferably DSL
Pentium 2 processor or later
At least 400 MB free Hard Drive space |
