Penny Rugs & Home Decor
Penny rugs were originally made in the 1800's.  They weren't "rugs" as we know them today. Coin-sized circles were cut from fabric or old clothing and stacked and stitched in various designs.  The cloths adorned table tops.  The wool penny rugs below are original designs done in a primitive penny rug style.  A dark cotton or wool backing gives a very finished look to the underside.  These pieces involve alot of hand stitching. Limited editions signed and dated.  Please email for availability or see current auctions items on Ebay.
