Episode Three: Soul Mates
PREVIOUSLY
-Angelus “We make her one of us”
Darla “But she’s insane”
Angelus “Exactly, eternal torment”
-DRUSILLA killing SPIKE
-DEMON “We shall return ……… your soul”
-GUNN “The arrival of SPIKE and his companions in these areas have greatly disturbed the remaining Senior Partners, if he finds the demon who granted him a soul, his status as champion will be sealed, and only a matter of time before he crushes us”
-DANIEL OSBOURNE is singing while playing his guitar
-OZ “You know, some people would say not to trust strange green demons who run karaoke bars in the middle of nowhere”
LORNE “And what do you say”
OZ “I say I’ve got nothing to lose”
-FRED “What did Willow say?”
OZ “She said you’re good people and that I should consider joining your operation”
-OZ sits up, he looks pissed, his eyes start to glow and his arms grow, but no more.
- OZ “Evening Spike”
SPIKE “Evening” looking at OZ again “OZ?!”
FRED “He’s going to help us here”
SPIKE “Well, the more the merrier”
-GUNN “Miss, you left something”
The woman turns it’s DRUSILLA, “No I didn’t”
GUNN looks puzzledly at the blindfolded doll in his hand
DRUSILLA “Miss Edith has been naughty, and now she doesn’t get to play my games” She sweeps round majestically and slowly walks out, dramatic, mysterious music plays as the screen fades to black.
A doctor’s office, a doctor is examining OZ (who is in his were-person state)
DOCTOR “I don’t how to explain this sir, I mean in my field of work I’ve seen my share of werewolves, but just your normal sort” He clicks his pen “we’re done for today, you can, you know”
OZ looks relieved and returns to human form
DOCTOR “I mean, most people when they get bitten, well they fight for a while, but then they just give in to the wolf inside, to the evil. What made you seek out a cure?”
OZ “I’m not evil”
DOCTOR “Well neither were the others, at first”
OZ looks down “There was a girl”
DOCTOR “Oh, and where is she now”
OZ’s eyes glow yellow and he growls at the DOCTOR “Now she has a girl”
DOCTOR “Whoah, sorry sir, didn’t mean to touch a nerve.” The Doctor closes his pad and opens the door to his office “Anyway, what you’ve told me should be helpful to figuring out what’s happened to you”
OZ stands and shakes the DOCTOR’s hand “Thanks” he says and leaves.
The DOCTOR shuts the door behind OZ and walks over to the phone; he picks up the receiver and takes a business card out of his inside pocket “Charles Gunn. Wolfram & Hart”

It’s night in a village made of huts, DRUSILLA walks through the village towards a cave, a tall African MAN comes up to her and talks in African, not understanding what he says, DRUSILLA snaps his neck and proceeds into the cave.
The cave is dark and has paintings on the wall (it’s the cave where SPIKE got his soul). DRUSILLA stops to look at the paintings. As she is looking a DEMON approaches her.
DEMON “You seek me vampire”
DRUSILLA “You put a curse on a vampire?”
DEMON “Answer me”
DRUSILLA “My answer is the same as yours”
DEMON “I granted the slayer’s champion with a soul” the DEMON laughs, “Do you also want to return to your former self”
DRUSILLA “No, but he does”
END ACT
ACT 2
FRED and SPIKE are walking through a forest, it is daylight.
FRED “So OZ says the DOCTOR was no help”
SPIKE “At least his problem isn’t as bad as mine, he’s just a new kind of demon or something, as long as he doesn’t go evil or anything”
FRED “But that’s it, OZ said that when he changes, he can feel that it’s the wolf that’s giving him the power, if the wolf took over his mind too.”
SPIKE “True, that would be a problem, and it’s one we’ll have to keep a close eye on, especially seeing as how he’s broken free of the full moon requirement”
FRED “Anyway, you’re just talking about OZ because you don’t want to answer my question”
SPIKE and FRED walk on for a few more steps
FRED “So why haven’t you been to see the DEMON yet?”
SPIKE “Because I don’t think he’s going to help. That guy was evil, not aligned with the powers or anything, he didn’t give me a soul out of the goodness of his heart, the stuff he put me through, the soul was payment for a few hours entertainment for him.”
FRED “Well you won’t know until you go”
SPIKE “I don’t suppose I will, it’s not far from here but I’d guess I’ll be gone about a day. Hold the fort”
FRED pats SPIKE as he turns and walks away “Have fun!”
SPIKE “Oh, you bet”
END SCENE
Inside LORNE’s, it’s shut, OZ is sat on the steps of the stage strumming his guitar, LORNE is on the phone.
LORNE “So they wouldn’t tell you anything” (pause) “I thought you were still in charge down there” “uh-huh. Mm-hmm, as in charge as you ever were then. Well thanks Angel-cakes give us a call if you hear anything.” LORNE puts the phone down and picks up his drink.
OZ “No help”
LORNE “Not really. You’ve had the Wolfram & Hart thing explained to you haven’t you?”
OZ “Most of it, evil-evil law firm, destroyed by a demon, rebuilt with the employees of Angel Investigations put in charge, a senior partner tried to destroy the world, SPIKE stopped him, became a giraffe”
LORNE “Well that’s the long and short of it.” He sits “When we were first put in charge of Wolfram & Hart, all of us, including GUNN had our doubts about where he would fit it, but then they inserted lawyer information in his head”
OZ “How?”
LORNE “We don’t know, we know there was surgery, but with all the stuff we deal with every day it was only about a 4 on the weird-o-meter. After that we always knew there was a good chance they’d done more than that, everything from Wolfram & Hart comes with a catch.”
OZ “Like SPIKE’s amulet, the one they hoped Angel would use so that he’d become their property”
LORNE “Exactly, and now it seems they’ve somehow brought GUNN over to the darkside”
As LORNE is finishing this last part of dialogue the picture cuts to GUNN looking a mess, unshaved, sitting looking through the phone book
END SCENE
GUNN turns the phone book to a page, he finds the page he’s looking for “LORNE’S – NIGHTCLUB AND KARAOKE” he starts to dial the number, when his sister appears next to him.
ALONNA “It’s not time yet, the senior partners will let you know when to reveal yourself to them”
GUNN “I know what you are, you reckon the Sunnydale crowd didn’t tell us about you, did take you a few years to get your strength back though”
ALONNA “I don’t know what you’re talking about”
GUNN “Shut up!”
ALONNA “I watch over you, try to stay part of your life, and you accuse me of being ultimate evil”
GUNN “There’s no point pretending”
GUNN’s sister now becomes ANGELUS who stands up and walks up to GUNN
ANGELUS “My that’s a relief, I hate having to stay all secretive, talking in suggestive riddles really does my head in”
GUNN “You think you can do this, you think you can get me to kill my friends”
ANGELUS “I think I can. I know I want too, my all new armageddon’s a few years off, I could stand to have a little fun”
GUNN “Do whatever you think you can, because I’m calling my friends”
ANGELUS “You’ll have to find another phone first”
GUNN looks at the phone and it blows up
ANGELUS “See you later pal”
END SCENE
We are now in a small office, a W&H EMPLOYEE sits at a table, he is reading something. ANGELUS suddenly appears next to him.
ANGELUS “Your mojo’s worn off again”
EMPLOYEE “Already, I thought we had the level right this time”
ANGELUS “Yeah, well guess what, you didn’t and I’d hurry up and give him some more because our boy’s about to blow our cover”
The EMPLOYEE takes a metal box out of a drawer, cuts his finger and the blood drips onto the lid, opening it. Inside is a dial; “We better find the right level soon, because there’s not much more we can give him”
END ACT
ACT 3
SPIKE walks through the village of huts, as he comes to the entrance of the cave he sees the dead man, we see a flashback to SPIKE walking towards the cave, the African man talking to him SPIKE saying “Not really asking for permission mate”.
As SPIKE is looking at the man he suddenly sniffs the air, “It can’t be….”
He enters the cave.
DEMON “The slayers champion returns” the DEMON laughs “You look different, have you done something with your hair”
SPIKE “Yer, that’s what I’m hear to talk about. What’s this giraffe thing?”
DEMON “Another pit stop on your journey”
SPIKE “You mean…”
DEMON “Yes, this, like the other forms you have taken, is only a temporary
state, if you were allowed to carry on down this path, you will eventually
become human”
SPIKE “Well, that’s a relief. Wait a minute, what do you mean…”
SPIKE is interrupted by DRUSILLA coming up from behind him and shooting him with a tranquilliser gun.
END SCENE
LORNE’S at night, it is full, someone is on stage singing, LORNE, OZ, and FRED are all sitting at the bar.
FRED “You getting anything”
LORNE “Nope, oh, wait a minute”
OZ “You’re getting something”
LORNE “Turns out it was nothing important, it’s just that this guy can tell the difference between butter, and “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter””
FRED “Well he does have 3 mouths” She slides down from sitting on the bar and stands next to LORNE “So, still no new info on GUNN”
LORNE “Nope, turns out when someone you know turns evil, he doesn’t like his employees coming to a mind reading demon”
END SCENE
SPIKE is now chained to the ground by his legs; he is standing but cant move.
SPIKE “What the… bloody hell”
DRUSILLA “Morning sleepy”
SPIKE “Dru, I thought I recognised your scent earlier, what you doing in this part of the world”
DRUSILLA “I came to fix you, make you all better, remove the soul”
SPIKE “No ones really explained this to you, I sought out the soul, so soulless SPIKE isn’t the guy you want either, he’s long gone”
DRUSILLA “Closer than you though” she turns to the DEMON “Do it”
The DEMON walks up to SPIKE and places his hand on his side, energy crackles all around it until the DEMON is thrown against a wall
DEMON “This, cannot be done”
DRUSILLA “What?”
DEMON “The soul, it has been sealed in place by the powers that be.”
DRUSILLA “NO! Take it out”
DEMON “I cannot, in fact even if I had not given him his soul years ago, he would have been granted one by now, he was destined to be the slayer’s champion”
The DEMON waves his hand and the chains fall off SPIKE “You must leave, I apologise, if I’d known you were so closely linked to the powers I would have never tried”
SPIKE “I’ve got people to check on” he starts to walk off “But I’ll be back”
As SPIKE leaves DRUSILLA too heads for the cave exit, as she does the DEMON leaps up and grabs her with both arms.
END ACT
ACT 4
The office, LORNE, FRED and OZ are all present.
OZ “GUNN, DRUSILLA, I really feel it’s time we leave”
FRED “I agree, we’ve found out that your giraffe state is temporary, that’s all we came for, with those two both here, we should head back to LA, or Cleveland.”
LORNE “Just as I get my club up and running”
SPIKE (Over speaker box) “We’re not leaving”
LORNE “We’re not”
SPIKE “We’re not, I’ve let DRUSILLA live too long, it’s time to take her out, and as for GUNN, we’ve got to work out what’s going on there. We’re not leaving till these problems, and whatever new ones arise, are dealt with”
END SCENE
Once again in the soul DEMON’s cave, he is still holding DRUSILLA firmly with both hands
DEMON “You waste my time vampire”
DRUSILLA “I swear, I didn’t know, the stars they kept it from me, they should have told me”
DEMON “You got me to attempt to remove a soul that has been sealed in place by the Powers that be, I’m lucky the attempt didn’t kill me, and I should kill you”
DRUSILLA tucks her head down, shivering like mad.
DEMON “But, there are far better and more interesting methods of revenge.” The DEMON takes one hand off DRUSILLA, still holding her firmly with the other “Such as” he suddenly places his hand on DRUSILLA’s chest and light shines from it “A SOUL!!”
As the DEMON gives DRUSILLA her soul she screams at first, then her screams turn to laughter, and as the DEMON finishes restoring her humanity and drops her to the ground the camera comes up on her lying on the floor laughing insanely.
