Spirit Food

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit - John 3:6

The flesh requires food to help it grow and remain healthy. In the same regard, the spirit requires its own "food" to help it grow and remain healthy. What is this "food" the spirit requires? It is a communing with God through His Word, the Bible. When the Spirit of God is alive and healthy within you, there is a certain peace with the world that cannot be obtained through anything this world has to offer. If you explore no where else for the Word of God, visit my little refrigerator here of Spirit Food. I'll try to keep my pantry stocked with new things as time goes on. If you ever have any questions about anything, I'll see what I can do to answer your question, or at least try to direct you somewhere that can. In addition, if you think I've missed the point anywhere, or am totally out in left field on something, let me know. I always listen. Go with God.

Your servant in Christ,
George

Wisdom of the Moment

"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise." - Proverbs 12:15

"Prove all things; hold fast to that which is true." 1st Thessalonians 5:21

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2nd Timothy 3:16,17

I firmly believe in the infallibility and completeness of the Holy Bible as it was compiled around 300 A.D., and that no other modern publication or commentary on it is entitled to add to or take away from the Word. All opinions or commentaries I personally present will conform to the Word and most will contain scriptural references to assure you that the opinions given are clear and well-founded. I don't understand everything in the Bible nor will I ever claim to, but I will speak of what I do know with confidence, and try not to throw outlandish claims at you that have little to no basis in scripture. There is too much of that already as predicted by Paul in 2nd Timothy 4:3,4:

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Do you know any good fables mistakenly being used as doctrine? Read the Bible with an open mind and "prove all things." Always remember to feed your spirit, and let it guide you in these matters.

Suggestion for Daily Bible Reading
This scheme of reading the Bible, as it says, will help you to traverse the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice in the course of one year.

An Online Bible - Since I heavily encourage a daily reading of God's word, this list would be incomplete without a link to a Bible you can read right now, where ever you are. This site contains multiple versions in multiple languages. Best online Bible I've found.

"He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have spoken not of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak." John 12:48-50
