THE MAIDEN AND THE SHARK
As a beautiful young maiden was swimming in the ocean, she unknowingly went into deep, dark, troubled, shark-infested waters. One shark in particular circled continuously around and around her, trapping her in his own little space. Although weary from treading water to stay alive and frightened of this shark, eventually she adapted and accepted her little prison. Then the shark began gnawing at her, just bits and pieces at first, nothing much, just little parts of her she thought she wouldn't even miss. Then he became greedier and hungrier, but by now she had become so accustomed to this situation that she began to feel that he protected her from even more dangerous creatures in the deep unknown sea.
When she finally became so weary and tired that she felt she couldn't stay alive anymore, she frantically called out to God to rescue her. And God reached down to her and said, "My child, take My hand and I will pull you out of there."
"But, God, without me here, the shark will be so lonely and without me to nurture him, he will surely die of hunger. He needs me here with him --- so, God, I want you to change him, make him love me, so that he no longer wants to feast on my flesh."
And, God replied, "But, Sweetheart, see him in the light of day; this is who he is right
now, but he has the ability to change, to evolve, and I will not interferre. However, if you take My hand, I will take you to a Holy Land, and lead you into still waters and green pastures, where you will heal and mend; I will fill your cup with your heart's desires and be forever by your side."
But, the maiden refused to leave, she wanted God to do this her way --- And, so the maiden drowned, with bits and pieces of her all around --- her body, mind and soul, just tattered remnants that had once been whole !!
And the moral of this story --- are you willing to sacrifice your life, your journey, your joy FOR A SHARK????? Think about this, and then find the courage for change !

FIND THE COURAGE FOR CHANGE! To willfully hurt another is the gravest of sins, and YOU DESERVE BETTER THAN THAT!
