STAR OF DAVIDThere you are ---
that little rock over there,
cold and unyielding at times.
Dismal was the dawn, while You were gone --
the sea, stretching endlessly ---
tossing me to-and-fro; where should I go ?
And then, one morning ---
there You are, My Morning Star !
Oh, David ! ---
Ezekiel, Hosea, Isaiah ---
the Prophets all speak of
One who will return in the sky,
amidst the souls who
burn in the fire of desire ---
searching, longing, yearning,
burning, tossing and turning
--- on and on ---
the endless churning of the soul;
will I ever reach my goal ?
Earth, Air, Fire, Water ---
I am Your Daughter !
The elements of Earth have
given birth to a life of strife,
suffering, pain, emptiness, unfulfilled dreams ---
though it seems that if I am Your wife,
then I should be able to find You,
to bind You to my heart;
so why are we far apart ?
I have searched for You
in every corner of this earth,
giving birth to great ideas and
schemes of where You are ---
My Morning Star.
I have searched for You in
the recesses of my mind ---
with eyes so blind !
Over here ---
this is the way to Truth,
to Heaven's Gate;
so, here I will idly wait for His return.
And the days turned into years;
and my nights were filled with lonliness,
tears and fears.
But my life remained the same ---
He never came !!
Oh, the wailings of my soul,
the pain I felt inside !
How can You leave Your bride ---
so alone and frail, so meek, so weak ?
My heart is filled with woe ---
crying, sighing, dying;
I must go and leave all of this behind ---
this darkness in my mind !
And then, one frightful night ---
it came to me ---
just a little bit of insight !
I decided that I would live and give freely of myself to others ---
to stand, to lend a helping hand ---
to love again with open arms,
to embrace all of His grace ---
to see this all around me and give thanks.
So, here I am ---
sharing, caring, healing, feeling alive once again.
Every beat of my heart is pulsating
in perfect unison with all, with One.
I have begun to feel the warmth of the Sun.
The heartbeat of the Universe is music in my ears.
I hear lyrics I never heard before;
I explore, beyond the door ---
seeking wisdom evermore.
I have liberty, I am free ---
I found the courage to be me !
When I stopped waiting for Him to appear,
I realized He was always here, so near.
When I stopped expecting Him to fulfill my destiny ---
I became aware that I just might dare to be
so bold as to hold my own,
to stand my ground, to fight ---
to deliver myself to victory !
Can't you see ---
He walks beside us eternally, silently ---
ever-present, ever-strong, leading us on ---
until, oddly enough,
the day comes along when we can stand alone,
without fear !
And, oh, sweet child ---
it is on that day that He will appear !
Oh, David, Star of Light ---
You shine so bright !
Now You fill my nights with bliss,
a Heavenly Kiss.
And You fill my days with blessings,
warmth and love, all sent from One above !
I have seen His face
--- unveiled ---
laughing, teasing, pleasing;
I have felt His touch, His embrace.
I have seen the Glory of His
Golden Light in dreams at night.
And, yes, to all who wonder ---
these words are very true !
Just whisper His name,
and then live your life to the fullest.
And when you least expect it ---
He will come to you ---
Oh, Love ensued, Sweet Love renewed !
