Twin Beredaz
The latest hidden talent lies in First Ward of Houston by the name Twin Beredaz and is getting ready to take over Dope House Records and the hungry hip-hop ears worldwide.
In spite of being only year-old since its inception, the group has commended the attention of fans, media and the music business during performances around the Lone Star state.
The makeup of Twin Beredaz is Quota Key and the Coast, two twin minds with untold experiences of life and a common goal to convey its message to all.
"I felt rap music so much as a kid, I knew i was meant to more than just listening to it" said Quota Key, a Houston native who was introduced to the Dope House by producer "Pain" Ortiz.
The young rapper started coming around the label's studios in late 2000 and got involved with the DFO's project, which is Pain's crew. He proved his natural talent through his input and it was during this time that he met his "twin", who had been around the for a year longer than him.
Coast, who was also born and raised in Houston, had tried his hand at other labels around town before settling Dope House.
"Some labels are too much into gangs and colors and i didn't want to be involved in that kind of thing," said Coast. "I checked a few other spots until a homeboy of mine took me to the Dope House."
Producer pain gave him the oppurtinity to flow on a sample track and immediately impressed everyone. Ever since then he has done contributors for several Dope House projects including Screwston-The Day Houston Died  and SPM's Never Change.
But their flow doesn't stop at collaborations; their own catchy beats and hard but smart lyrics are beggining to make a mark in various circles and that's how they've played in several live music  venues in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and other cities. The duo is currently  working on theirfull-length debut album, which is scheduled to be released in Summere 2002 this summer with contributions from other Lone Star artosts. If you'd like to have a hard copy taste of their music, check their underground self-titled EP release, which you can buy at concerts, car shows or other entertainment events where Dope House soldiers are.
