Measure Twice 14 foot plywood Runabout

First Launch: The Measure Twice was launched October 2004 from the Fort Washington Marina in Maryland near Washington DC on the Potomac River. Well, it Floats! - I won't tell you how many trys it took to back down the ramp my first time so don't ask. Click on images to see larger versions:

Construction: The boat was built in a garage shop that only has a standard 36 inch door. Some discussions during construction raised the question of whether my wife would get a new sliding door in the side of the house prior to the boat being launched.

We tipped the boat sideways and used a wheeled dolly to slide it out the door. We took the door off to make it easier but I didn't have to 'widen' the door.

On the trailer: John helped us get the boat on the trailer and my daughter Kacey wants to try it out.

In the shop, near completion. Registered.
