This is the easiest trick to teech your dog and probably the first one you should teach it.What you should do is get a treat.Then you say sit and hold the treat above the dog head so that it will look up.Then that movement of the dogs head will make the dog want to sit down.Once your dog sits,say good dog and give it the treat.Continue until you no longer need to hold the treat over the dogs head.You will know when your dog has learned the trick when you say sit and the dog sits without you holding the treat over its head.Remember,your dog needs a break once in a while.
This is the second trick you should teach a dog.I would recommend using the word lie down,for any other words will cunfuse the dog when is comes to getting your dog to get down when it jumps on you.What you do is take a treat and say lie down,and hold the treat down low so that it touches the ground.The dog will then lay down to get the treat.Then you say good dog and give the dog the treat.Continue until holding the treat down low is no longer needed.
Here is a slightly harder trick.It works best with American Equimos since that what their really made to do.Anyway,first you get a treat (like always).Then you say up and you hold the treat up high so that the dog will have to jump up to get the treat.When the dog jumps up say good dog and give the dog the treat.COntinue until you no longer need to hold up the treat.This trick is more tiring that usual so give your dog more breaks than usual (about every 5 minutes).
Now for the hardest trick yet.You have to do this trick after lie down and up or it wont work.Now first get a treat.Make sure your dog doesnt get too wraped up in the treat thought this time.Now first say up and then you should say down.DOnt do anything with the treat just say down.Your dog will recognise the word from lie down and your dog should either lie down (most of the time it will) or sit down.After your dog does the trick give your dog the treat and continue whenever your dog jumps up on you.
Now here comes the tricky part.This trick has nothing to do with moving the treat in a special way or get the dog to recognize the word from another trick.Actually,this trick doesnt even involve a treat.Ok,first get a food (such as salamie or chicken) that you and your dog both like.Then you say bark or speak or any word that works for you.Then (your dog will not bark most of the time) you should bark yourself and then eat a peice of the food.Continue until the dog catches on and the dog barks.When it does bark,give the dog a pecie of food and say good dog.
