The Andy Gyorffy Photo Gallery

Andy Gyorffy passed away in 1993, under unfortunate circumstances. I inherited his Squadron photos, books, and other momentos. These I put away into storage for about 8 years. Now I'm sharing them with you.
More to come.

During March 18-22, 1981, we took a couple of planes  (3671 & 9404) for a trip to Myrtle Beach AFB, South Carolina. After an unplanned stay  of a few days in Chase City, West Virginia, that is. We stopped for fuel but the airstrip was closed down! A fuel truck was sent from Fort Bragg, NC to get us back in the air. The Base at Myrtle was one of the best I've been to. Rooms & facilities put ours to shame. Great to see the A-10 "tank killers" flying there. Sadly, it too is closed now. The group had a great time on the links, mini-putts, and the beach. Andy & I were aboard 9404 with Don Eddie.

During the Summers of 1981-82, Andy participated in the Spruce Bud Worm in New Brunswick. WW II Avenger Torpedo Bombers were used to spray chemicals. Andy helped keep them flying. Other members from 400 Squadron & 2 RSU were there, too. Ron Mercer, Ken Moores, & Zaid Mohammed.
