Welcome

I hope

That somewhere in my lifetime,

I have brightened someone's day.

That maybe I have brought a smile

To someone else's face,

And made one moment a little sweeter

While they dwelled here in this place.

Lord, please be my reminder

And whisper softly in my ear ...

To be a "giver," not a "taker,"

In the years I have left here.

Give to me the strength I need,

Open up my mind and my soul ...

That I might show sincere compassion,

And love to others before I go.

For if not a heart be touched by me,

And not a smile was left behind ...

Then the life that I am blessed with,

Will have been a waste of time.

With all my heart, I truly hope

To leave something here on earth ...

That touched another, made them smile

And gave to my life ... worth.

I asked the Lord to bless you

As I prayed for you today

To guide you and protect you

As you go along your way....

His love is always with you

His promises are true,

And when we give Him all our cares

You know He will see us through

So when the road you're traveling on

Seems difficult at best

Just remember I'm here praying

And God will do the rest.

Feelings, Love & Friendship

Thank you for sending me the things

to make me think, laugh or smile.

For when I am down

You make the hurt go away if only for a while.

That is why friends are so dear,

just because they love you.

And you always know they're there

to lend a listening ear and take away the blues.

It is also why I thank my God...

for the friends he sends my way

For He knows we all need some cheer

and the support each and every day.

So to my wonderful friends

I send a poem to you.

Because I know that you all

are my friends through and true.

In each of us is a special gift

for if we love one another

It can surpass so much pain and fear

And give help and love to others.

So take this poem my friend,

and hold it close to your heart

Always remember me,

and we will never be apart.

Live Each Day

Live each day of your life as tho' it will be,

the last day that your loved ones you will see.

The last time you will have the chance to say,

you're a great gift in my life and I love you today.

Who knows which one will be the first to go.

Maybe you, our son, your dad, who knows.

But each word you speak, each act you perform,

makes a mark in their life and a memory is born.

Will the memory be one you can be proud to claim,

or one that will put your love and heart to shame,

Will the one who is left to carry on in this life

remember you with joy or have memories of strife.

One can not take back words nor say the unsaid.

Change from being moody and to laughter be led.

Undo the moment that the temper did flare.

Plant a kiss, give a hug, and show that you care.

Or will your smile warm the heart of those you're around.

Will your unselfish kindness be their day's joyous sound.

Will your heart display an interest in each moment they live.

while to them all your love you so willingly give.

Moments are gone just the same as each breath,

memories can't be changed and neither can death.

You must live your life as tho each moment is the last.

and create good memories for both present and past.

One Little Rose

I would rather have one little rose

From the garden of a friend,

Than to have the choicest flowers

When my stay on earth must end.

I would rather have one pleasant word

In Kindness said to me,

Than flattery when the heart is still

And life has ceased to be.

I would rather have a loving smile

From friends I know are true,

Than tears shed round my casket

When this world I've bid adieu.

Bring me all your flowers today

Whether pink, or white, or red;

I'd rather have one blossom now

Than a truckload when I'm dead.

Now I lay me down in school

Where praying is against the rule.

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites

It violates the Bill of Rights.

Anytime my head I bow

Becomes a federal matter now.

The law is specific; the law is precise.

Praying out loud is no longer nice.

Praying aloud in a public hall

Upsets those who believe in nothing at all.

In silence alone we can meditate

And if God should get the credit--great!

They are bringing their guns,

I don't dare bring my Bible,

To do so might make me liable.

So, now Oh Lord, this plea I make;

Should I be shot in school,

My soul please take.

"Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you,

. . .that it may go well with you in the land which the Lord your God gives

you" (Deuteronomy 5:16). " - 2 Samuel 20, 21, 23:8-23; 1 Chronicles

11:10-25, 20:4-8

God commanded us to give honor to our mothers. What is a mother? She's the one person who knows us best and loves us in spite of it.

The most famous mother in the Bible, outside of Mary the mother of Jesus, was a woman by the name of Hannah. She suffered ridicule because she was barren; during her generation that was considered a curse from God.

Hannah made a promise to God that if He would give her a son she would dedicate him totally to God. He answered her prayer and Samuel was born. Hannah was a mother like all mothers, and to give up her son was a sacrifice, but when Samuel was 3 years old she left him with the prophet Eli.

The books of Samuel in the Old Testament are about the life of Samuel:

Hannah's love for her son, how she prayed for him regularly, and how she visited hi m every year to bring him clothing and food. Can you imagine giving birth to a son, having him for only three years, and then only seeing

him once a year? But Hannah had made a vow to God and she kept her promise.

If you have children, love them dearly, pray for them regularly, and at some point surrender them to God.

We'll be celebrating Mother's Day soon. If your mother is still living, call her and tell her how much you love and appreciate her-every day.

Father, I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now. I am asking You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy.

Where there is self doubting, release a renewed confidence in Your ability to work through them. Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding, patience, and strength as they learn submission to Your leading.

Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You. Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them

Your courage.Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it, and break its hold over my friend's life.

Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders and friends to support and encourage them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the evil forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it. I ask You to do these things in Jesus' name.

In love, Your Friend

Passing this on to anyone you consider a friend will bless you both. Passing this on to one not considered a friend is something Christ would do

WHEN GOD MADE MOMS

By the time the Lord made mothers, he was into his sixth day of working overtime. An Angel appeared and said "Why are you spending so much time on this one?"

And the Lord answered and said, "Have you seen the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have 200 movable parts, all replaceable, run on black coffee and leftovers, have a lap that can hold three children at one time and that disappear s when she stands up, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart, and have six pairs of hands."

The Angel was astounded at the requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands! No way," said the Angel.

The Lord replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem. It's the three pairs of eyes that mother must have!"

"And that's just on the standard model?" the Angel asked.

The Lord nodded in agreement, "Yep, one pair of eyes are to see through the closed door as she asks her children what they are doing even though she already knows. Another pair in the back of her head are to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she can. And the third pair are here in the front of her head. They are for looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or her without even saying a single word."

The Angel tried to stop the Lord. "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish."

"But I can't," the Lord protested. "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick and can feed a family of six on a pound of hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand in the shower."

The angel moved closer and touched the woman. "But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think", asked the Angel. The Lord replied, "Not only w ill she be able to think, she will be able to reason, and negotiate."

The Angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak with this model.I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak," the Lord objected. "That's a tear!" "What's the tear for?" the Angel asked. The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her disappointment, her pain, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride."

The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything. WOMEN are truly amazing!!"
