Self Reliance Foundation
Student Fellows at UNM
Founded in 1979, the Self Reliance Foundation / Acceso Hispano (SRF) fulfills its mission to empower minorities by disseminating practical information and facilitating access to community based services.

Our goal is to inform and inspire Hispanics to take advantage of opportunities for personal and community empowerment in the areas of health, social issues, education, economic opportunities, science, environmental protection and access to new technologies.

SRF oversees comprehensive educational campaigns using Spanish-language radio, print, and Internet to reach Hispanics throughout the U.S. and Latin America.

SRF operates the National Hispanic Resource Helpline
(1-800-473-3003), the only national, multi-service, bilingual Information & Referral Service in the U.S., linking Hispanics to resources in their own communities.
