PROJECT DIME UPDATE: SR20DET swap

Please don't mind the mess on the background. I am doing this project DIME from my carport, now garage, since I have moved.

August 2003
Step One was...take out the old L16 motor and tranny

September 2003
Now, the motor. Sitting at a friends shop at the moment

Here, I'm inspecting the motor

The motor looks big and impossible.....at the moment.

Here I'm helping guide the motor in.

Viola!

In the engine bay temporarily. I will be taking it out for further inspection and take out what is not needed.

You need these hard parts to get this SR20DET going at least...
Include in this pic are: ECU (SR20DET), Upgraded MAFS (300ZX), and Ignitor Chip (SR20DET)

Need left is the Wire Harness below

OK! I am back for more updates. It's been awhile since I last worked on my project DIME due to busy working or playing...

Anyway, I ran out of space at my other account so I had to make another one specifically for this project DIME.

Early March 2005. I took my DIME to a buddy I met on an online forum and he hooked me up a deal to patch up the bad rear quarter panel.
On the picture it looks fine but up close the rear panel was badly damaged. The previous owner gave me both extra rear panels.
I soon sold the left panel and saved the right panel.

Here is a picture of the rear quarter panel.

April 2005.
Rear quarter panel patched up with a good quarter panel.

Body work on the driverside.

Another front angle. It is about ready for primer.

May 2005.
Finally, time to primer the DIME. Here are couple pics.

June 2005.
Late June, I went to tow my DIME back from the buddy's house. Here is a shot of the DIME in my garage.

July 2005.
Though, it may look nice on pics, there were a lot of misc. imperfections.
For about a month, I worked on the body. Here is a pic of me doing just that.
yes, I am a UTAH UTES fan :)

Let's go to PAGE TWO of the updates.
