Meeting Seth
(Soap Opera Digest, April 30)
Thus far, Steve Richard Harris's (Seth, OLTL) major TV roles have been brief, but memorable: He's recognizable more often as the gardener he played on Sex and the City in 2000 than for his seven-month stint as Another World's Zak in 1998-99. But as OLTL's new Seth, he's hoping to change that. "I didn't have to audition," he reveals.
(He tested for the role of Al last year.) "They said they're throwing me on the middle of a storyline and that they saw a lot of similarities between me and [Seth]."
Since his last soap stint, Harris has lived in Long Island New York, looking after his two young daughters and working for his brother-in-law. "I was a sales rep for an eye-wear company for about a year," he says. Although he guested on SATC and Law and Order: Special victims Unit, "it's been quiet otherwise."
For now, he's getting a crash course in Llanview. "I got SoapNet!" he notes. "Now, I can really catch up."
Harris is expected to start airing this week.
