Anime Information
Even though you Dragonball fans may not always like it, but there are other anime out there. In my opinion watching anime is like a religion practically. It can be one of the most enjoyable experiences. But, of course, it depends on what kind of anime you're watching. If you know of an anime that is not listed here, and happen to know a lot on this anime, e mail me and you can become an Arena member and that anime will be the section you work on. So far I've been doing all of the other anime sections besides Jaganshi Hiei...so I've been 'slightly' disappointed with the turn out so far. But it seems like we're making some progress, and don't be afraid to submit your anime sections!
Neon Genesis Evangelion - Without a doubt this mind-bending anime possesses the most complex and intracate plot there IS in Anime. Love it or hate it, NGE has done something no other anime has TRULY done: Make you think. From questioning the very things that makes us human, Hideaki Anno's masterpiece anime at last can be seen at the SSJ Arena. Hope you all enjoy, a lot of work went into this section, but be warned. EXTREME SPOILERS AHEAD!!! Run by Nate
Dragonball / Dragonball Z - This was my first anime I ever saw, and I hold all of my anime craze to it. It has, by far, the greatest and most epic action you'll ever find in an anime. The plot may move slower than some anime, and there are a ton of filler or "unnecessary" episodes. I feel that the show vastly makes up with it wonderful characters and amazing fights. DBZ has the most powerful fighters, hands down, of any anime. Some of the more powerful people could easily destroy the entire universe if they wanted. However, I feel Dragonball / Z was overdone when the TV executives went on without Akira Toriyama and made "Dragonball GT." DBGT was probably where the world got tired of DB...it was just way too predictable and didn't have the "feel" Akira Toriyama gave to Dragonball and Dragonball Z. But I do have to admit that the opening to GT was pretty good... All in all, Dragonball / Z is a classic anime that is loved by fans world round. You'd be missing out on a LOT if you don't see it! Yu Yu Hakusho - This anime is the next step up for the action genre. It carries the spiritual/ki theme from shows such as Dragonball, but carries it to a much higher level. The plot, humor, and animation (mostly) is pretty much all superior to any anime I've seen in this field. The action is great, almost street-fighting. The characters are very likeable and fun to watch. And on top of that it has that great humor that just seems to be missing in so many anime these days. I HIGHLY recommend this anime as it's a great one. This section is run by Jaganshi Hiei.
Tenchi Muyo - This was the 2nd anime I got into after Dragonball. It was the "sparkplug" that really hit me off into more anime. It is one of those anime that tries to be serious, but winds up hilarious in the end. The characters are absolutely lovable! Like Dragonball, the third series made for it, Shin Tenchi, was a flop that was pretty bad. Run by Nate
Ghost In The Shell - Representing one of the greatest achievements in modern anime, Ghost In The Shell delivers high strung exciting with eye popping animation and smooth, stunning music. Run by Nate.
Cowboy Bebop - Moving up as one of the more popular anime around, everyone definitely needs to see this series. Contains 6 Sessions, all of which can be bought on a single DVD each. Each session contains about 3-5 episodes. I've asked around about this anime, and generally EVERYONE agrees. Cowboy Bebop flat out rocks. Very little anime comes close to its greatness. The plot is easy to follow, the characters are superbly done. Get the Sessions before others do! Run by Nate.
If you are knowledgeable on an anime not listed here, that's okay. As long as it's not like, a total flop in Japan kind of anime I'll take it. E mail me to tell me about the anime, and more often than not I'll allow you to become a member of the Arena Crew. Anime movies count as well. I want this to be one of the more extensive sections of the SSJ Arena. But it depends on fans like you.
