Yosho could have been the heir to the throne of Jurai, thus making him the most powerful man in the galaxy. Events and twists of fate, however, deviated him from such a course. He is the son of Funaho, a human of Earth, and Azusa, a pure blood Jurain. Thus when he came there was a large dispute on whether a hybrid like himself really should ascend. Thus Yosho was never thrilled to be the sole heir. Therefore Azusa went and married Misaki, another pure Jurain, to try to ease the tensions (guess they don't really care about polygamy much). From Misaki Azusa got two daughters, Ayeka and Sasami. Ayeka was slated to marry Yosho to become the new Emperor and Empress of the Jurains. However, before anything could happen Ryoko attacked and Yosho gave chase to defeat her. After causing Ryo-Ohki to crash on Earth (as well as his ship Funaho, named after his mother), Yosho engaged Ryoko in hand-to-hand battle and was able to defeat her. He removed her gems and sealed her away in a cave under Funaho's roots (since it crashed, it turned into a tree and took root). He also placed his sword Tenchiken, with Ryoko's 3 gems in its hilt, in with the cave as well for double duty. Not only did it help keep Ryoko imprisoned, but it kept Funaho alive with the power of the gems. Thus Yosho would be able to live on Earth forever. He could not return to Jurai, as Funaho had taken root in un-Jurain soil. Thus he was stranded...

Yosho did not waste his life, however. Tsunami granted him a 'mask' that would make it seem as if he were aging, thus making him less odd to others. He met a girl, of whom is not named. He took on the name Katsuhito Masaki, and gave birth to the Masaki family line. They had one child, who was named Achika. Yosho tried to train Achika and make her realize his vision of becoming the emperor of Jurai. She rejected his aspirations for her to ascend, and wanted to just live a normal girls' life. 13 years later, Achika and Noboyuki (who is suppose to be a distant descendent of Yosho anyways) had a baby named after Yosho's sword, Tenchi. Yosho trained Tenchi and found him to be much better than he even was. While Yosho's power could've helped Tenchi out in many skirmishes, he let Tenchi learn for himself so that Tenchi could allow his true power to come out at critical moments, and to gain some experience for the boy.
