Death's Head

A sentient cyborg created by the alien Lupex and programmed by his mate Pyra, this fearsome bounty hunter has been both an enemy and an ally of both Transformer factions during the war circa. 2006–2009.

Comic Bio (UK):

Death's Head's first visit to Cybertron was in 2006 just after the battle with Unicron. Rodimus Prime had placed a bounty on the head of Galvatron after the Decepticon had disappeared and Prime was unable to carry on his galaxy wide search after Shockwave restarted the war. Death's Head hunted down Galvatron's former lieutenants Cyclonus and Scourge and forced them to tell him of Galvatron's whereabouts. After a sound beating from the bounty hunter, Cyclonus informed Death's Head of Galvatron's previous time jump to 1986 and his theory that Galvatron had retreated there after his defeat inside Unicron. Death's Head followed Galvatron to 1987 using similar time warp technology. On his arrival, the bounty hunter ran into, and killed, Bumblebee who was in the area at the time. When Prime learned of Death's Head's involvement, and the information he had gleaned from Cyclonus, he gathered a small group and time jumped as well to recover both Galvatron and Death's Head.

Death's Head obtained Galvatron's whereabouts in Montana from Soundwave at the Decepticon base in the Florida Keys. When he reached Montana, he saw that Galvatron had constructed a vast power siphon on top of a volcano, so that when it erupted, the resultant energy would be channeled into the Decepticon. Rodimus's team and the present-day Ultra Magnus had already arrived but were proving no match for the deranged Galvatron. Death's Head ordered Prime to step aside and allow himself to carry out the contract. Prime refused and told Death's Head that the contract was canceled. Whilst the two argued, Galvatron attacked them both. Death's Head was injured and retreated to repair. He eventually returned to battle Galvatron singly, and nearly beat him, but his efforts gave Wreck-Gar enough time to override all the time jump devices and forcibly return all the future characters to their own time. Galvatron managed to remain behind but was buried under the volcano with Magnus when the volcano erupted while the siphon was damaged.

Death's Head found himself jumped back to Autobot Headquarters. Furious but outnumbered, he slunk away. He then accepted a contract on Prime made by the Decepticons and attacked during a routine security check. Prime's guard detail was killed in seconds and the Autobot leader was almost executed. The interference of Cyclonus and Scourge, who were also hunting Prime, saved him. Scourge shot Death's Head in the back as revenge for their previous meeting, and left the hunter for dead. The Decepticons chased Prime into the tunnels under Autobase but never caught him. Instead they ran into a very ticked off Death's Head. Knowing that fighting Death's Head in the tunnels would be suicide, the Decepticons tried to escape, but instead ran into Prime. They ignored him but Death's Head did not. Prime tricked Death's Head into going up a secret entrance into Autobase, where he was taken prisoner. Death's Head backed down in the face of superior numbers but was unrepentant. Prime accepted this and made him an offer: an equal sum of money to the contract on him, in advance, in return for his contract being dropped and the heads of Cyclonus and Scourge. By now Death's Head and Prime had a mutual respect for one another and Death's Head accepted, out of profit motive and a thirst for vengeance.

By January 2009, Death's Head tracked Scourge and Cyclonus to the planet of Junk. As he was about to execute them, a Junkion arrived and begged Death's Head to help him free his fellow Junkions from a malevolent enslaver. Death's Head offered Cyclonus and Scourge their lives in return for their help, intending to betray and kill them later. The enslaver turned out to be Unicron, whose head had landed on Junk after his body was destroyed at the battle at Cybertron. Unicron had enthralled the Junkions, as he had now done to Death's Head and the Decepticons, to use their advanced engineering skills to build him a new body. He revealed that he had used the psychic link he had with Cyclonus and Scourge, his creations, to draw all three of them to Junk in order to carry out his plan of vengeance against the Transformers. They were also building a time portal so that Unicron could collect his errant creation Galvatron. He sent Death's Head, with Cyclonus and Scourge acting as corpses, to Cybertron in an attempt to kill Shockwave. The attempt succeeded and Death's Head ordered Soundwave, Shockwave's lieutenant, to name Cyclonus and Scourge as the new leaders or his ship would detonate, razing Decepticon Headquarters to the ground. As Unicron observed these events he did not notice the arrival of Wreck-Gar, Smokescreen and Inferno to Junk. The new Decepticon leaders ordered a suicide attack against Autobot Headquarters, hoping to remove as many of both side as possible before Unicron's arrival. Death's Head returned to Junk and was ordered to kill the just-detected Autobots. Death's Head severely wounded Inferno but Wreck-Gar bought Smokescreen enough time to escape to Cybertron. As Death's Head was about to kill Wreck-Gar, his willpower returned and he fought against Unicron's control. He was punished instantly, allowing Wreck-Gar to escape, but Death's Head realized that Unicron's power over him was not as total as it was for Cyclonus and Scourge. Smokescreen returned to Cybertron in the middle of a violent conflict and informed Prime of the Junk situation. Prime led a squad to Junk, hoping that the Creation Matrix would defeat Unicron again. At the same time, Death's Head was still fighting Unicron's mental control and managed to move into Unicron's mind through the psychic link they shared when Death's Head was punished. Death's Head fared no better off in Unicron's mind than he had against his body but as a reward for Death's Head's efforts, and as a final memory before he killed him, Unicron told Death's Head of his [Unicron's] origins and of his hatred for the Transformer race. The distraction Death's Head's intrusion had caused allowed Wreck-Gar to place a huge amount of explosives under Unicron's head. Prime arrived to attack and Unicron returned Death's Head to his body and called Cyclonus and Scourge back as air support. Prime's attack provided a further distraction and Death's Head was able to meet with Prime and form a plan. Death's Head called Unicron and pretended to have attacked Prime and stolen the Matrix. Unicron would let him go free as reward. Unicron refused and punished Death's Head. Prime used the opportunity to enter Unicron's mind himself and attack but he was totally helpless. Death's Head discovered Wreck-Gar's explosives and pulled Prime out of Unicron's mind in order to escape. Cyclonus and Scourge arrived and Death's Head pushed them and himself through the time portal so he could kill them 'another time.' The explosives detonated and Unicron's body was destroyed while his essence was captured inside the Matrix. Cyclonus and Scourge traveled back to Cybertron 1989 and fell under the leadership of Scorponok. Death's Head was not seen again in the Transformer Universe but was shrunk to human size and time warped once again in an encounter with the Time Lord known as the Doctor.
