| Mission Co-op Weekend Next weekend a Sister from The Little Sisters of St. Francis, an Order of nuns of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis of Assisi, will be here to talk with us about their missionary work in Africa, Europe, and the United States. Please be as generous as your means permits in helping to support their cause. Thank you. Parish Picnic Planning Meeting Sunday, August 3 immediately following the 10:00 Mass Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Summer Program Will be from Monday, August 11 through Friday, August 15, 10:00 a.m. until noon. The Vacation Bible School is open to children 6 to 9 years of age. If you have any questions, please call Sr. Mary Elizabeth at 755-7538 or the Parish Office at 752-7424. Detroit Tigers Bus Trip Friday, August 22; Detroit vs Anaheim Angels. Seats are on the third base foul line! Your game ticket entitles you to one free piece of pizza or a hot dog, and a free soft drink. $45.00 per person (includes bus, ticket to the game, and food on the bus.) You will need to be in the parking lot by 3:45 p.m. and the bus will leave promptly at 4:00. If you have any questions, please call Lee Tobias at 755-2462. Lee must know this coming weekend if you are going to the game. Dear SS. Simon and Jude Parishioners, I am happy to be a part of your parish family. As many of you know, I've lived in the house here since 1996 when Fr. Bob became your pastor. I've been the associate pastor of Holy Spirit Parishin Shields since 1995. I'm now part of the new pastoral team that has responsibility for St. Christopher and Assumption, in Bridgeport, Sacred Heart in Birch Run, and SS. Simon and Jude. The five-member pastoral team looks forward to this new assignment. Once again, the members of the team are: Joan LaPointe, Sr. Ellen Rinke, IHM, Fr. Tom Moore, OSFS, Fr. Bob Schramm, OSFS, and myself. We are all looking forward to getting to know you and becoming part of your parish family in the weeks to come.
