Athanasios Samantas comes from Lamia Fthiotidos. In 2000, he was entered in the Department of Economics in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with panhellenic examinations. In 2004, he took his Bachelor in Economic Sciences (third in the oath-taking) with the grade 7,56 (Very Well). At the period of 2005-2006, he finished his army services as a Second Lieutenant in the corp of Material War in the Greek Army. In 2006 (November), after successful introductive examinations for officers HCG, that carried out the Hellenic Coast Guard, he was imported to the Hellenic Naval Academy and graduated with the field grade of Ensign of the Hellenic Coast Guard in December 2007.
