FINAL APOLOGY

Forgive me for not being the perfect child.
Forgive me, too, for being so weak at heart.
Forgive me, again, for every time I failed.
Forgive me, still, for taking our family apart.

I never meant to destroy or to give pain.
'Tiseems my God-given gift that
everywhere I go and everthing I do
I'd bring rain.

I am the lonesome crow cursed with a face
meant for swollen eyes, for tears, meant to cry,
But most of all, I'm sorry I took the place
of your dreamed one, of the one more deserving than I.
